🏠 EXTENSION SECOND FIX – PRESTON ⚡

Another extension in Preston progressing nicely, with our electrical installation now second fixed following completion of the plastering.

We carried out the electrical work from first fix through to second fix, with the sockets, switches and lighting now installed and the new extension starting to take shape.

The roof lantern is a great feature in this one, complemented by LED downlighting positioned around the new space. 👌

Back at St Annes Old Links Golf Club, this time installing new exterior lighting around the entrance to the club.

The existing fittings and cabling are being removed and upgraded with new lighting to improve both the appearance and illumination of the entrance area.

New Electrical Supplies – St Bernadette’s School, Bispham ⚡️

Another commercial school kitchen project underway, this time at St Bernadette’s School in Bispham.

We’ve been busy pulling in new electrical supplies from the existing distribution equipment, ready for the installation of new commercial kitchen equipment.

Working in existing schools often means carefully planning cable routes and working around existing services to get the new supplies exactly where they’re needed while keeping disruption to a minimum.

Next stage will be the final connections, followed by full testing and certification before the new equipment is put into service.

Electrical Call-Out – Fault Found & Repaired ⚡️🔥

We were called out to investigate a loss of power to a garage and summerhouse.

After fault finding, we traced the problem to a badly burnt-out connector on the supply. As you can see from the photos, the connection had suffered significant heat damage and had completely failed.

The damaged connection was removed and the necessary repairs carried out to get the supply safe and back up and running.

This is a good example of why electrical faults shouldn't be ignored — a poor or deteriorating connection can generate considerable heat and eventually lead to complete failure.

Full Rewire in Progress – Lytham ⚡️🏡

We're currently carrying out a full rewire at a property in Lytham, replacing the existing electrical installation and bringing the property up to modern standards.

This project came in as a last-minute enquiry, and with a strict deadline to meet, we were able to fit the customer into our schedule and get works underway immediately.

The owner is due to return home from Portugal shortly and needs the property ready to move back into, so we're working hard to keep the project on track and completed in time.

We'll be installing new wiring, lighting, power circuits, and safety systems throughout the property, ensuring everything is fully tested and ready for handover.

EICR Completed ⚡️

Another Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) completed, carrying out a full inspection and test of the electrical installation.

EICRs help identify deterioration, damage, overloaded circuits, and any non-compliances that may affect the safety of the installation. The customer receives a detailed report outlining the condition of the electrics and any recommendations where required.

For landlords, EICRs are a legal requirement every 5 years, and many of the original certificates issued when the regulations first became mandatory are now reaching their expiry date.
