Royal Findhorn Yacht Club Sailing and social club at Findhorn bay, Moray, Scotland. Skills Development Coaching by experienced race coaches and sailors is provided from time to time.

Royal Findhorn Yacht Club (RFYC) is located in Findhorn, on the coast of the Moray Firth in Scotland, overlooking the sheltered inshore waters of Findhorn Bay. RFYC is privileged to have a superb 250-year old building, with a fantastic view over Findhorn Bay and the Moray Firth, an outstanding sailing area and an enviable heritage. With organised and supervised racing for dinghies and occasional c

ruiser activities the club offers sailing and racing every weekend from April though to October with additional mid-week events during the holiday season. Cafe facilities are available during the day and bar facilities are available at the weekends and during events. Games and activity areas for children are available at all times and there is a comprehensive social programme of both formal and informal events throughout the year. The high-spots of the year are Cadet Week and the Regatta Weekend which runs into Findhorn Week. Seven days of dinghy racing with parties every evening make an excellent start to the holiday season. Members of the public are invited to take part in any club sailing event on a trial basis prior to making a decision to join. Short term holiday season memberships are also available. The club would, of course, be most happy to welcome you as members.

On Sunday it was our pleasure to see five visiting yachts from the Moray Firth Club Cruise in Company. There were significant breaking waves on the bar but Gilbert and Murray, aboard RFYC’s rib S2, abley escorted them through the safe water channel. They were then welcomed to the club by Commodore JoJo Scott to enjoy a few drinks. We look forward to seeing them again!

Please help us protect Findhorn Bay's wildlife

This photo shows just one weekend's worth of discarded fishing nets, lines and equipment removed from around our pontoons.

As well as being a hazard to boats by becoming tangled around propellers, abandoned fishing gear poses a serious risk to the wildlife that calls the bay home. Sadly, one of the nets we recovered this weekend contained dead crabs that had become trapped.

If you're fishing from the pontoons, please take all nets, lines and tackle home with you when you leave. If something is accidentally lost, please let us know so we can remove it before it causes harm.

A small act of care can make a huge difference to the marine life in our bay.

Please be kind to our wildlife and help keep Findhorn Bay safe for everyone – on and under the water.

Sunday 5th July at 12:00pm
All current and prospective rescue boat volunteers are invited.
Whether you're an experienced helm, regular crew member, or interested in helping with safety cover for club events, this session is a great opportunity to refresh existing skills and build confidence on the water.
The training will include:
* Man Overboard (MOB) recovery
* Capsize recovery techniques
* Towing procedures
* Shoreside discussions and scenario planning
Safety boat volunteers play a vital role in supporting racing and club activities, and we're always keen to welcome new faces to the team.
