Took on the task of removing the sail weight off a previously "topped" tree to give it a longer life. Unfortunately "topping a tree" is a technique of the past still used by uneducated tree surgeons today. It's the fast easy way to reduce a tree but it creates faster new growth with weakened unions and can cause major failures in the canopy of tree.

A few before and afters from a multiple day job this week. We cut the large conifer hedge leaving it nice and tidy. Removed a little oak tree that has unfortunately become too big for its location and was stealing the sunlight from the rear of the garden also revealing a cherry that had been hidden behind it for years which we gave a nice sympathetic prune and finally brought the front hedge back under control to open up the rear garden access.

Took down this little conifer that had unfortunately started to heave at the root plate. I forgot to take the picture before I started so the before photo is after I had removed everything I could reach from the ground. With the bonus of peggy in the after photo. Message on messenger or through WhatsApp for any tree and hedge needs.

A dramatic before and after from our job in the heat today. Unfortunately, this magnolia had gotten too big being that close to the property, so it had to be removed. However, it has allowed loads of sunlight onto the decking and also into the neighbors' kitchen.

Today in Forest Row, we removed an overgrown conifer hedge, reclaiming the back corner of a lovely customer's garden. To preserve as much habitat as possible, we left the stems in place. The logs were added to a previous habitat pile to extend its life, and the customer wanted to keep all the chippings for w**d suppression. And before anyone asks I did a thorough check for any nesting birds before I started the works
