Sometimes the best spaces are the ones you least expect...
Our client had been using an existing stable block to host family gatherings and celebrations, but it never quite lived up to the occasion. The brief was simple: create a space that delivered the wow factor while respecting the character of the surrounding rural property.
Our in-house design team developed a solution that completely reimagined the building. The original stable block was replaced with a steel-framed structure that carefully retained its familiar external appearance. From the outside, it still looks like a traditional range of stables, but open the stable doors and you're greeted by a fully glazed entrance leading into a stunning open-plan entertaining space.
Inside, the building has been designed for every occasion, with a bespoke bar, comfortable lounge seating, generous dining area, commercial-style kitchen, bathroom facilities, and even a separate home gym. It's a space that's equally suited to relaxed family get-togethers, milestone celebrations, or larger events.
The interior combines practicality with character. Polished concrete floors provide a durable, low-maintenance finish, while reclaimed timber walling and industrial-inspired detailing create a warm, contemporary feel that reflects the building's agricultural heritage.
Projects like this show how thoughtful design can transform an ordinary building into something truly extraordinary, retaining its rugged rural character on the outside while creating a completely unexpected experience within.
