The Folkestone Harbour Company has commissioned leading architects Sir Terry Farrell & Partners to draw up plans for the redevelopment of Folkestone Seafront. The ambition is to build upon the substantial regeneration work that has already taken place in the Creative Quarter in Folkestone’s Old Town. Once regenerated, the seafront will increase its attractiveness to visitors and residents providing a new public realm and benefitting the local economy.

UPDATE
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank our teams for their quick and dedicated work in clearing the site in the days since Storm Goretti.

No major damage was reported across Folkestone Harbour and Shoreline, and thankfully no injuries were reported to us.

The main impact has been the movement of water, shingle, and debris across parts of the site, including areas around Shoreline and along the Harbour Arm on both the Harbourside and Beachside. This has resulted in shingle covering sections of the road, boardwalk, and surrounding areas.

Please take care when visiting the area while works are ongoing and thank you for your patience.

Fishing & Visitor information for Saturday 30th August

Due to the fireworks taking place on this date, the top walkway of the Harbour Arm will be closed to the public all day.

As a result, the designated fishing area will not be accessible, fishing will only be permitted from the beach on this day.

It will be reopened on Sunday 31st August in accordance with normal operational parameters.

From Monday 9th June please be aware that beach management works will be commencing. The works are to remove shingle that has drifted along the shore and deposit it back down the beach.

Works will be taking place over 3 weeks, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Visitors will still be able to use the boardwalk during the works apart from at the start and end of each day as the equipment is moved back across the boardwalk. For safety reasons, access to the beach will be restricted whilst the works takes place.

We are undertaking these works to help maintain the beach and shoreline. We undertake an annual beach condition survey which determines if the works are required.
The last time these works were undertaken was in early 2023.
