Many veterans carry more than most of us ever see.

They’re trained to cope, to push on, to stay strong – and that can make it even harder to ask for help when things become overwhelming.

Radford (pictured left) is now raising awareness of this after his brother (pictured right) sadly took his own life. Known as JB, he was a veteran who served 18 years with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

Today, he’s sharing three simple but vital reminders for all those within the Armed Forces community

- Asking for help is not weakness

- Listening without judgement matters

- Checking in with your loved ones can save lives

It is my sad and solemn duty as Chairman to inform the branch and members of the very sad passing of our dear friend Richard.
He sadly passed away in hospital today, Friday, the 9th of January, 2026.

Rich was a very well known and loved member of the branch, the town and especially the pubs, he loved to chat to anyone no matter who they were and had an amazing character.

He was very special to our branch, was everything the Legion stands for and will always live on in our hearts.

After the passing of the branches dear friend Gwilym, we now have the details for those who wish to attend his funeral.

The service will be held on 28/11/25 at 1100hrs at Oxford Crematorium, Headington.

A minibus is being arranged to transport branch members there and back so if you are part of the branch and wish to attend please get in contact with us.

The family however have stated that all who knew Gwilym are welcome.
