From a garden giant to a mantlepiece treasure. ✨
​This mighty Ash tree finally reached the end of its life, but we knew its story didn't have to end there.
While most of the tree will keep homes warm as firewood for many winters to come, we saved the most "characterful" pieces for the workshop.
​Swipe to see what was hidden beneath that rugged bark: a stunning, highly figured hollow form vase. The tree may be gone, but this piece of art will last forever. 🌳🏺

This striking bowl is made from spalted beech. Spalted wood is timber in the early stages of decay caused by fungi, creating unique and highly sought-after patterns such as dark zone lines, black streaks, and mottled colouring.

Just a few months ago this was a rotten log lying on the forest floor. Now it’s a piece I’ll keep for a lifetime. 🌳🪵✨

A hugeeeee amount of work completed at this exceptional Goodwick property, set within truly stunning grounds 🌿

All aspects of tree work and garden maintenance were carefully carried out across this grand estate.

We thoroughly enjoyed working through the expansive areas, managing a diverse and mature range of plants and trees throughout.

These photos capture only a small fraction of the work completed.

A genuinely enjoyable project — and we’re looking forward to continuing the long-term care and management of these beautiful grounds.

Love how much character these pieces carry.
Both timbers are locally sourced from trees we worked on — Ash from Mathry and Wild Cherry from Goodwick.
