🌳 proud boss moment ❗️

This is Callum, our apprentice. He has been with us since he was 16yrs old and got his aerial cutting qualification last year. Today he got thrown up a nice big beech stem to have a go at cutting with a big saw up in the air. Go on lad 💪

Long trek in with the stump grinder today. Had to get a photo. 1t stump grinder and the plant trailer behind our quad. A first for everything.

We have a team on stand by for storm Amy this weekend. Hopefully it’ll all blow over with minimal damage. However if you do need help the guys will be ready to go. We’re on standby cover from 7pm Friday until Sunday afternoon.

If you do have wind blown trees please remember that once it’s come down it cannot fall again. Do not put yourself in danger trying to deal with it while the wind is still howling.

If you have partially failed trees, these can be really sketchy and particularly dangerous in high wind conditions. Don’t put yourself in a vulnerable position.

Flailing today. This one’s always awkward, squeezing between the light poles, bus stops and fibre boxes!

Crane and cherry picker assisted tree surgery in Kilmacolm. This one was awkward, several windblown stems all tangled up with a limited drop zone. Glad to get this one down safely 👌 🌳

Very large beech fell! Unfortunately the tree was condemned due to significant decay and it was too close to a school play area.

Hung Scot’s pine in a dead chestnut tree. Both trees set up for a sideways fell and then the root plate was severed. 👌

This Christmas we are collaborating with Treecycle. They will collect used real Christmas trees from your home or business and recycle the trees into biomass rather than letting them go to landfill. If you need a tree picked up have a look and book on their website 🌲 🎅

This Christmas, our goal is to recycle 10,000 Christmas trees across Glasgow to prevent them from filling up our parks and landfills. Join us in giving your tree a second purpose, reducing our city’s environmental impact, and supporting a more sustainable Glasgow.
