A bathroom recently completed in St. Margaret's Hope. The original yellow suite was removed and I got a the first fix plumbing done before replacing plasterboard where it was needed. The home owner's decorator took over for a couple of days, doing the taping and filling and painting the walls and ceiling. After that was out of the way I fitted the bath and flooring, then the wet wall and the rest of the sanitary ware and the towel rail. It is a fair change from what I started out with. Bathroom design was by Andy Wild at William Wilsons, Hatston who supplied the bathroom. Thanks as always to Coltherd Limited for electrical work to install the fan. The light will be changed at a later date.

This is a bathroom I finished recently in Holm. At just over 1.8 metres square, it is a pretty small room which has made it tricky getting things in and out. All of the plasterboard was stripped off and replaced with new before fitting the wet wall and sanitaryware. The waste pipe for the toilet was in the concrete floor and in the wrong place for a new toilet to be fitted, so I cored a new waste out through the wall. The plan had been to connect to the existing drainage outside, but when I dug down and found it, the old clay pipes were in a very poor condition and I had to replace a lot of the underground pipework. All of the work in this room was carried out by myself. Sanitary ware and wet wall was supplied by William Wilson at Hatston, and bathroom design was by Andy Wild at William Wilson. The mirror was supplied by the customer, and lino flooring will be fitted at a later date by the customer after they have painted the ceiling.

I have just finished this bathroom in Kirkwall. The room is basically triangular, which has made layout and design quite tricky, but as usual Andy Wild at William Wilson in Kirkwall has done a great job with the design. Thanks again to Coltherd Limited for electrical work. All the other work in the bathroom has been done by me.

A new bathroom in Rendall. The majority of the work on this bathroom was completed around a month ago, but today I returned to fit the towel rail now that the room has been painted. I removed the existing bath, basin and WC, and made alterations to the pipe work. I re-sheeted the walls where necessary with new plasterboard which was taped and filled by me before I fitted the new shower tray and the wet wall. I fitted the flooring with a bit of guidance from Stewart Montgomery, then got the vanity units for the basin and WC fitted before fitting the sanitary ware. Stewart refitted skirting boards and door facings and made a piece of splashback to fit the narrow gap behind the basin. The walls have been painted by the home owner. The bathroom was designed by Andy at William Wilsons in Kirkwall and all the sanitary ware, wet wall and vanity units were supplied by William Wilsons.

Out with the old and in with the new, today has been spent changing an old leaky hot water cylinder for a new one. Fitting new pipework on old stone walls is always tricky, but it worked out ok.

I headed to Sanday today to get these two wood pellet fired appliances serviced. I fitted the Klover Smart 120 a few years ago, and a year or so later fitted the Klover Soft 80. The range cooker Style Smart 120 heats the radiators, the hot water and can be used as a cooker. The Soft 80 is a remote controlled room heater and makes the art studio lovely and warm very quickly. Both are great looking units providing a focal point in their respective rooms.
