⚠️ This is why boiler servicing matters… ⚠️

This Worcester CDI boiler was working, but during its service we found it still had the older style electrode assembly with the viewing glass.

On affected Worcester CDI models, Worcester later updated this component and advised replacing the older sight-glass style assembly with the newer design when identified.

Over time, the original design can deteriorate and crack, potentially allowing heat and combustion gases to escape into areas they shouldn’t.

The updated part was fitted, helping keep the boiler safe and reliable 👍

A proper service isn’t just about checking readings — it’s about knowing what to look for and catching potential issues early 🔥

At Quinn Gas Solutions, it’s not just about fixing boilers — it’s about providing a service people can trust.

During Colin’s boiler service, we identified a faulty flue manifold and provided a quote for the required repair. Due to restricted access around the boiler, a replacement sump was also included within the quote as a precaution.

However, once full access was available, we were able to fully inspect the sump and confirm it was still in good condition and didn’t require replacing.

The result? The repair was completed correctly, and the final invoice was reduced to reflect the work actually carried out.

The faulty flue manifold was replaced, along with the associated seals supplied with the component, before carrying out full safety checks and testing to ensure the boiler was operating correctly.

The faulty pump was removed and replaced with a new Grundfos pump, the same manufacturer that produces the original pump fitted by Vaillant before rebranding. This provided a genuine-quality replacement while saving around £100 on the part.

Not only does the customer now have a more efficient and reliable heating system, but they’ve also gained a significant amount of cupboard space by removing the boiler-mate.
