The slabs were covered in algae and lichen, so I treated the surface, scrubbed the stone and rinsed it down to bring the natural colour back out.

There is one key to pruning, when you make a cut with your secateurs, make sure you have your blade on the same side next to the wood of the tree/shrub want keep so you will have a clean cut.

This prevents the plant from getting diseases and also make sure you keep your pruning tools clean, sharp and well maintained this will also prevent any diseases.

🌳 Olive tree TLC at The Old Beams, IbOld Beams, Ibsley,ese olive trees after finding them sitting in waterlogged pots with no drainage something olives really struggle with, especially during winter.

To improve their growing conditions, I drilled drainage holes, added a pea shingle base, and re-potted the rootballs using an organic compost mixed with builders grit to create a free draining, sandy structure.

Olive trees naturally thrive in Mediterranean climates with dry roots and excellent drainage, so this setup helps prevent root rot while encouraging healthier growth moving forward 🌱

Sometimes it’s the simple fixes that make the biggest difference.
