🏆 A LITTLE FRIDAY BLING! ✨

Remember when we announced we'd been named East Midlands Carpentry & Joinery Business of the Year 2026? 👀

Well, look what’s just arrived! 😍🏆 Greg's clearly rather pleased with his new bit of glassware! 😂

It's brilliant to have the trophy in our hands and a lovely reminder of an achievement we're proud of.

A huge thank you to everyone who supports us, recommends us and trusts us with their projects. It really does mean a lot. 💚

Happy Friday, everyone! 🍻

The saws were out, the competition was fierce... 🪚🏆
A slightly belated thank you to everyone who came to see us at Southwell Ploughing Match!

It was brilliant to meet so many people throughout the day, have some great conversations and show you what we do.

Our cutting contest was just as popular as ever, with some seriously hot competition for first prize! The hammock swing was another big hit - it definitely got plenty of testing throughout the day!

A huge thank you to our friends Beth & George for dropping by and capturing these lovely photos of us and our stand.

If you're thinking about a oak framed pergola, gazebo, porch or something more bespoke we'd love to hear from you. Drop us a message to chat about your ideas.

Thanks again to everyone who stopped by - we hope to see you again soon 💚

Our latest porch project 🌳

This beautiful oak framed porch was built to spec in our framing workshop before being installed at this property in Shelford, Nottinghamshire.

We went for some seriously chunky 8" x 8" oak timbers on this one, giving the frame the weight and presence needed to sit comfortably alongside the proportions of the property.

As with all our frames, everything was carefully considered and crafted by hand, from the timber selection through to the traditional joinery.

Another project finished and another oak frame ready to stand the test of time 💚

🌾 We’ll be at Southwell Ploughing Match & Show! 🌾

We’re excited to be heading along to the Southwell Ploughing Match & Show on Saturday 26th September in Farnsfield.

Come along, say hello and see what we’ve been working on. We’d love to chat about all things oak framing, joinery and traditional craftsmanship - and there’ll be plenty more to see and do across the show too.

Well, last night was fun!
We hosted about 20 members of Southwell Young Farmers Club at our framing workshop for an evening talking all things oak framing & more importantly, getting hands-on with it!

We looked at why we work with green oak, how traditional joints and oak pegs hold a frame together and some of the many ways oak framing can be used in agriculture and rural businesses - from barns and farm shops to event shelters and holiday accommodation.

Then it was over to them to get stuck in and have a go at themselves 🪚🔨

It was a really enjoyable evening with a great group. Thanks to Southwell YFC for coming along, asking plenty of questions and being so willing to have a go!

If you'd like to see more of what we do, we'll be at the Southwell Ploughing Match & show later this month - come and say hello.

A little look at what’s been taking shape in the workshop.

This front oak frame has been made for a local builder as part of a larger project - a lean-to structure for an outdoor kitchen.

Carefully cut, jointed and assembled here in the workshop, it’s now ready to head to site and become part of the finished build.

Another piece of oak ready for its next chapter 🌳

We won! 🏆

We're really chuffed to share that Harris Sutton Joinery has been named Carpentry & Joinery Business of the Year – East Midlands in the My Local Awards 2026.

This one really does mean a lot to us.

The My Local Awards are decided by public vote, and we've been genuinely touched by how many people got behind us. To everyone who voted, shared our posts, recommended us to others or sent us a message of support – thank you. We couldn't have done it without you 💚

As a small family business, so much of our growth has come through recommendations and the trust people place in us to work on their homes. To have that support recognised with an award feels pretty special.

We're incredibly proud of what we've built so far and excited about what's ahead for Harris Sutton Joinery – helping more homeowners create beautiful oak-framed additions to their homes, alongside the bespoke joinery our customers know us for.

Thank you again for being part of it.

Meet Greg 👋

Behind every Harris Sutton Joinery project is Greg.

From the first conversation and site visit through to the final finishing touches, Greg is involved every step of the way. He believes great joinery is about more than simply making something that works – it's about creating something beautiful that will become part of your home for years to come.

Whether it's a handcrafted oak frame, a bespoke media wall or a fitted piece of joinery, every project is approached with the same care, attention to detail and pride in the finished result.

One of the things customers often tell us is how much they appreciate Greg's craftsmanship, reliability and willingness to take the time to understand exactly what they're looking for. That's something we're incredibly proud of.

As part of our My Local Awards campaign, we wanted to introduce the person behind the business.

If you've had the pleasure of working with Greg, we'd love to hear about your experience in the comments below.

And if you'd like to support Harris Sutton Joinery in the My Local Awards, you can vote using the link in our bio.
