A personal favourite of mine 🔥

A crumbling coping stone capping on a small parapet gable was causing some trouble and leaks into the master bedroom! We got to work removing the poorly cast concrete stones, relaying any bricks that were dislodged, boarding the parapet with 18mm marine ply and installing code 5 lead capping, welded for strength and clipped with copper on the drip edges as per Lead Sheet Association guidelines. This will last a life time!

Slate roof renewal, Godalming, Surrey! 🔨

We were contacted by the owner of this gorgeous property near the heart of the old town. The roof was tired with plenty of the slates slipping due to nail fatigue. With no underlay there were serval leaks inside the house. The slates themselves were in a good condition so the decision to reuse as many of the slates was chosen. We set about renewing the roof with top quality underlay (vapour and air permeable), eve support trays around the roof line, roofing grade batten, copper nails and replacing like for like with any damaged or broken slates and ridges. Finished off with chimney works in the form of repointing, code 5 lead flashings and flaunching!

It’s always a pleasure to work on older properties and update a roof while keeping its original character.

Flat roof renewal in Farnham, Surrey!

We were contacted by a neighbour of a previous client about a newish roof that was installed by the builder during an extension build (recipe for disaster!). The GRP installed was leaking in several places ☔️

We got to work to renew the flat roof, using our favourite system. 3 layers of RBM felt, all systems are great when installed by a competent installer. However we find felt to be the most versatile and hard wearing, time tested roof covering. All with code 5 welded outlets and code 5 lead capping for a great aesthetic. Another job in the dry 👌🏻

Something a bit different 😎

We were contacted by a previous client who had a bit of trouble with a garage that kept a classic VW van in! The garage roof was old and letting damp in causing the roof of the van to rust 😬. After discussion about scope, it was decided that now would be a great time to enlarge the garage opening at the same time to accommodate the roof box on the van.

We selected the best new hand crafted tile that was in keeping with the period of the property. Installed new low pitch clay tiles on the smaller rear extension of the garage (that housed the electrics). High spec vapour and air permeable underlay and a dry ridge kit to ensure no more damp! We used 4x4 oak beams with a dove tail joint for strength, made into a crank beam to take the load of the roof above to heighten the garage opening. We loved working this job and meeting the expectations of our customer, who was equally happy! The VW is now dry and safe 🫶🏻.

New roof, lantern and structural works in Farnham, Surrey!

We were initially called to inspect a leak on this lovely property the essential Farnham. The new owners had just inherited this shoddy extension roof with a bit of single glazed glass stuck on top 🤦🏻‍♂️ After a discussion with the customers around scope they decided now would be a great time to remove the old load bearing wall to open up the kitchen/dinner area and lighten it up!

We quickly got to work, removing the load bearing wall, installing steels with calculations from an engineer, recutting the flat roof to include a proper lantern, internal works all carried out and obtaining building regs sign off. The customers now have a great space for hosting and the hub of home is brightened up!

Repairs to a beautiful old building in Haslemere!

We were called by a returning customer when the brick corbel detail on his commercial property had become loose and had fallen during bad weather recently. Unsafe and no longer fit for purpose we got to work!

We reinstated to the original design the brick detail to maintain the appearance of the building. While in situ, it was an obvious time to renew the roof battens and install high performance underlay to bring the roof up to modern regs on this section of roof.

New roof in Farnham, Surrey

A 3rd new roof on the same cul-de-sac! A real pleasure to be back working next door to previous clients. This old roof was becoming a problem with tiles starting to break and fall down off the roof. We got to work using a Sandtoft interlocking tile in a Lovley brown. Using as always the best underlay on the market, with its vapour permeable and breather properties. This new roof was a genuine pleasure to work on for great customers and they were just as happy as us with the results.

We were called out by a client that had a leak from a small parapet wall at the front their beautiful home. We identified the issue some poorly installed lead work. We set about rectifying this and improving the timber work bringing this up to modern regs. T-pren rubber expansion joint welded into the lead and lump of code 5 lead. Two home owners contacted us about a project, a total roof replacement and new PVC fascia, soffit and guttering. After an initial inspection and conversation around specs and expectations we agreed to carry out the project! We took extra care to level out the sagging rafters with firing pieces. New full replacement fascia and soffit, high spec underlay, new lead chimney flashings and repointing, low level fascia vents and high level dry ridge ventilation and of course attention to detail. We delivered a roof up to modern regulations that the customers and we are both very happy with

We were contacted by a neighbour of a previous client about some persistent damp stemming from his aging roof. We quickly got to work, rebuilding the chimney on the recommendation of a survey the customer had done and renewing the roof. Using machine clay tiles with top spec underlay membrane, dry ridge system and some quality brick work with a new lead tray we completed the project on time.
