A big commercial job wrapped up for Sassy & Boo in Marlborough, bringing together nearly every exterior trade we offer on one site.

We handled the roofing (including tile hanging and flat roof work), rebuilt the chimney, added a new patio, rendered the exterior walls, fully decorated the shopfront and rear aspects, plus a glazing upgrade to give the shopfront a fresh finish.

A few years ago, we were called into The Lansdowne Club, Mayfair's renowned private members' club, to repair water damage to the ceiling and carry out full emulsion and gilding restoration.

Narrow hallways are one of the spaces we get asked about most, and here are three wallpaper tips we always come back to.

Choose light colours. Lighter wallpapers reflect more light, making a confined space feel brighter and more open. Soft neutrals, pale greys, creams and muted pastels often work best.

Avoid busy designs. Bold patterns can look stunning, but in a narrow hallway they can make the space feel even smaller. Medium-scale patterns give you character without overwhelming it.

Go vertical. Stripes and vertical patterns draw the eye upward, making walls feel taller and easing that closed-in feeling — which is exactly why they're such a popular choice for smaller hallways.
