Thinking about a renovation or extension?

One thing people often hear builders and electricians talk about is “first fix” and “second fix” electrics, but what does that actually mean?

💡 First fix is all the behind-the-scenes work done before plastering. Things like running cables, fitting back boxes, wiring circuits and planning where sockets, lighting and appliances will go.

💡 Second fix is the exciting part where everything starts coming together, fitting sockets, switches, spotlights, extractor fans and all the visible finishes.

Then comes the final testing and certification stage to make sure everything is safe and signed off properly.
