JOB OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE - Groundworks & Landscaping Worker
I’m looking for an enthusiastic and motivated self-employed person, to work with me in my small groundworks & landscaping business.
Initially this will be a labouring position, but with plenty of opportunity for skills development, advancement and progression (which would be subsequently reflected in pay and responsibilities).
HOURS - Full time Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, with occasional weekend work on offer (especially in high season).
PAY – TBC dependant on experience level- opportunity to increase dependent on development
The position is permanent, but a probationary period will be in place for the first 2 weeks to ensure the post holder is the right fit.
Job Role Includes:
-General labouring duties such as:
• Distributing materials and equipment to necessary areas.
• Mixing aggregate; sand, cement etc.
• Operating smaller machinery (guidance will be given).
• Making sure the project grounds are clean and materials are organised for efficiency.
• Helping with tasks throughout the project, of a variety of levels (guidance will be given).
Essential Skills
• Suitable for workers aged 18yrs+
• Reliable/Punctual.
• Professional, friendly and able to engage with clients.
• Good communication skills.
• Good understanding of maths; taking measurements, calculating quantities etc. used in construction (training to develop will be given where necessary).
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Small assortment of own tools (shovel, trowels etc)- Investment expected to aid development.
• Full driver’s license and access to own vehicle.
• Able to handle the physical demands of the job - standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing and lifting.
Desirable Skills
• Previous experience in groundworks/landscaping.
• Able to work independently.
• A keen eye for detail- this level will become apparent once a relationship is built.
