🐾 A slightly different project for Steward Carpentry this time!

I recently made and installed this reception desk for waggy_washes_lilli a local dog grooming salon, creating a practical front counter while keeping the existing space easy to work in.

The front was finished with decorative moulding to give it a more traditional panelled look, with a matching access gate built in as part of the design.

A nice change from doors and staircases, and a good example of the sort of bespoke carpentry I can take on for both homes and local businesses.

And I even got approval from one of the customers before I left! 🐶

🔨 Making loft access safer and easier

A recent job completed replacing the old loft hatch with a much more practical loft access setup, including a folding timber ladder.

The new hatch gives much easier access into the loft and, most importantly, means no more balancing on a separate ladder every time something needs to go up or come down.

It’s one of those upgrades that makes a big difference to how usable your loft space actually is.

If you’ve got an awkward loft hatch, need a new loft ladder fitted, or have any other carpentry jobs around the house, feel free to get in touch.

Are you thinking about a new kitchen?

This kitchen has had a complete refresh, with new units, worktops and finishing details creating a much brighter, cleaner and more modern space.

There was plenty involved in getting everything fitted neatly and working together properly, but I’m really pleased with how it all came together.

I always enjoy seeing a project go from the old setup to the finished result — especially when the difference is this noticeable.

If you’re thinking about updating your kitchen, or you’ve got another carpentry project in mind, feel free to get in touch.

I’ve been really lucky to work with some fantastic customers and I’m incredibly grateful for the kind feedback people have taken the time to leave.

As a small local business, reviews really do make a huge difference. They help new customers feel confident getting in touch, and they mean a lot to me personally too.

Here are just a few of the lovely comments I’ve received recently. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you to everyone who has supported Steward Carpentry, recommended me, shared my posts or left a review it really is genuinely appreciated.

🔨 A recent hallway panelling project completed by Steward Carpentry.

This one was all about adding character and detail to what was previously a fairly plain hallway and landing.

The new decorative wall panelling has completely changed the feel of the space and gives it a much more traditional, finished look.

I really enjoy projects like this — relatively simple changes can make such a big difference to a home.

If you’re thinking about adding wall panelling or have another carpentry project in mind, feel free to get in touch.

🚪 Oak doors, fitted properly.

I’ve been busy installing a range of oak internal doors recently, from traditional boarded styles to glazed doors that help carry more light through the home.

I really like the contrast of the warm oak with black and antique-style ironmongery — it gives a clean, timeless finish that works beautifully in both modern and traditional homes.

Every door is carefully fitted and adjusted on site for smooth operation, even gaps and a neat professional finish.

If you’re thinking about upgrading your internal doors, whether it’s one door or a full house, feel free to get in touch.

A recent project, a freshly plastered room completely transformed with new door lining, door, skirting, architrave and pipe boxing

I really enjoy the variety of carpentry work and helping customers get those jobs finished properly, whether it’s one small job or part of a larger project.

Making the most of every inch of space!

This recent project was a bespoke understairs storage unit, designed and built to make use of what would otherwise be wasted space.

It includes:

✔️ A full-height cupboard for larger household items
✔️ A large pull-out drawer with internal shelving
✔️ A design made to fit the space perfectly

Every home is different, which is why all of my storage projects are built to suit each customer’s needs.

If you’ve got an awkward space that could work harder, I’d be happy to help.

🚪 Check out these gorgeous pre-finished oak doors I recently installed.

Finished with antique brass ironmongery, the combination works beautifully and gives the doors a really warm, traditional feel.

One of the doors needed something a little different, so I was able to alter it on site and convert it into a stable door, while keeping the same style, proportions and finish as the rest of the doors.

A nice example of how a bit of bespoke carpentry can make a standard product work perfectly for the customer’s home.
