Project Complete
The refurbishment of St Mary's Leisure Centre in Southampton has now been successfully completed, delivering a comprehensive programme of improvements to enhance the building's condition, functionality, and accessibility.
The works included the replacement of the centre's metal, tiled, and flat roof areas, together with the installation of new safety handrails to the flat roof to improve safe access for future maintenance.
A significant M&E upgrade was undertaken, including the replacement of the existing gas boilers and the installation of new ceiling-mounted heating panels within the sports hall, improving the building's energy efficiency and heating performance.
Extensive refurbishment works were also carried out to the building's brickwork and stone masonry, preserving and enhancing the fabric of the facility, in addition to this a full refurbishment to the toilets, changing room, washroom, gymnasium and reception areas were completed.
To improve circulation throughout the centre, a new stairwell and staircase were constructed, providing enhanced access between areas of the building.
