New addition to the Arbuckle fleet 🚜

This year, we've added a new John Deere 6155R to the fleet, purchased from J & S Montgomery Ltd in Beith.

Investing in modern, reliable machinery allows us to work efficiently across a wide range of forestry and agricultural contracting projects, while giving our operators the right equipment for the job.

DID YOU KNOW?

All of our forestry workers are suitably trained in first aid with an additional category. It is called Emergency First Aid At Work +F (forestry).

This course includes additional topics relevant to the higher risks in remote areas and addresses potential challenges faced by those working in remote and rural environments.

For example, the potential for delays in accessing emergency medical assistance due to travel, communication and logistical challenges.

The inherent remote location of professions such as forestry may necessitate prolonged care for casualties before professional medical aid can be accessed, making tailored first-aid training a critical necessity.

A closer look at our Forestry project in Crianlarich 🌲

For around five years, Arbuckle Contractors has been carrying out forestry road construction works within a forest in Crianlarich.

This ongoing project has seen our team return to the site through successful tender awards, working alongside stakeholders and councils to deliver the work required.

From the initial groundworks to the construction of new forestry roads, it's a project that showcases the experience, planning and practical expertise behind our forestry contracting services.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing more from the project, including the materials, machinery and processes involved.

World Cleanup Day 🗑️

Today is a great opportunity to highlight our commitment to maintaining clean, safe and respectful working environments.

Whenever we begin an external project, we take pride in keeping the site tidy throughout every stage of the work, minimising disruption and ensuring waste is managed responsibly.

On completion, we always aim to leave the area exactly as we found it, or in an even better condition, reflecting our dedication to environmental responsibility, professionalism and care for the communities in which we work.

Another successful project for Arbuckle Contractors!

One of our long term, existing customers approached us to install a patio and retaining wall to the rear of their property.

The project involved creating the retaining wall then back filling to allow for a ramp leading down from the property to a patio area with steps leading down to the lower level of the garden.

Fancy something similar? Our books are filling up fast, so get in touch early to secure your garden transformation for next year, and be ready to enjoy it when the good weather returns! ☀️

DID YOU KNOW? 🌳🦝🦎🐿️

When working in forestry areas, ecology studies are carried out to ensure we are not disturbing wildlife during our operations. These studies highlight areas where many different species of wildlife might be in residence. When appropriate, precautions such as exclusion zones may need put in place for their protection.

Here's a peek into a recent project. An installation of a bell mouth and turning point into a new woodland creation for an existing forestry customer 👀🌳

This project was challenging due to the fact there were some area restrictions including overhead powerlines and traffic management.

We worked closely with Aberdeenshire Council to ensure all necessary permits were applied for and in place.

Firstly, we dug out to a suitable grade into site. Then, quarried stone was imported from ex site. This was laid over a period of 2 days. We then carried out preparation of existing carriageway to receive tar as per specification supplied by Aberdeenshire Council.

We were proud to wrap this up as another tidy, high quality project completed earlier than expected and within budget.
