The Nurture Project

The Nurture Project Horticultural therapist The Nurture Project is a small organisation that uses gardening to promote health and well-being.

It aims to provide an impartial and safe space for adults to improve their mental and physical well-being in a friendly but structured environment. No gardening experience is required, and participation is offered on both a one-to-one and small group basis. The project is based in tranquil gardens in Kettlestone, near Fakenham, and will be staffed by experienced horticultural therapists.

Thank you to The RHS for such a brilliant show at Sandringham, and for their continued support of The Nurture Project.

We were delighted that TNP was selected to take part in RHS’s plant reuse scheme, which gives plants from the show a new home with community-led charitable organisations. Carlyn brought home a fab haul of plants that would have otherwise gone to waste.

They’re looking great having had some much needed rain in the past few days!!

We can’t wait to plant them in the new TNP site soon 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱.

RHS Sandringham Flower Show — the first ever RHS show held on the King and Queen’s private Norfolk estate.

This year’s line-up included a new “Grow Forward” category, all about gardening for a changing climate and among them, Jane Scott Moncrieff’s Chestnut Group Garden for The Gurkha Welfare Trust.

Inspired by the Himalayas, the design was split across three spaces: a woodland area, a rain garden and a dry garden. The Trust supports Gurkha veterans and their families in Nepal, so it was a garden with real heart behind the planting.

Carlyn went for one day to help out and meet the visitors…

Last week our Mixed Park Group paid a visit to Miniature Donkeys for Therapy and Fun in Little Massingham.

Sometimes the best sessions happen away from the garden. Getting out, being around animals, and just enjoying something a bit different — it’s all part of what we do.

Last month our founder Carlyn attended the Compassionate Communities Norfolk & Waveney event in Dereham — a morning dedicated to the vital work being done around dying, death and bereavement in our region 🌿

The day was about more than just conversation. It was about kickstarting a movement, with organisations from across Norfolk & Waveney making pledges to better support their communities through life’s hardest moments.

One thing that really struck us: no service exists in isolation. Whether it’s horticultural therapy, hospice care, bereavement support or community connection — it all forms part of the same holistic picture of support for people when they need it most.

Proud to be part of that picture.
