A pleasure to join our friends Sholver Millennium Green - OL1 4QP and Life for a Life Memorial Forests for the Annual Millennium Green Day.

We shared some of our favourite Forest School activities 🍂

Creating wooden ornaments and necklaces and foraging for natural materials to do Hapizome, a traditional Japanese technique where fresh leaves and flowers are hammered onto fabric to release their pigments and create beautiful artwork.

We had an amazing morning with our resident beekeeper Brookdale Bees 🐝

From putting on the suits to opening the hives, everyone loved learning about bee behaviour, honey production and the craft of sustainable beekeeping.

Cath shared her own beekeeping journey and answered every question with warmth and expertise. She plays a huge role in the community as well as supporting and training beekeepers across Greater Manchester.

That’s a wrap for our Summer programme of Pick, Press and Play 🍎 🍐 🌳

It’s been a fantastic last session and we can’t wait to share some highlights, stories and final counts of how much fruit was harvested and distributed throughout the project.

We were joined by our funders First Choice Homes Oldham and it’s been great for them to hear first hand the positive feedback and impact the summer project has had.
