Reimagining the existing structure that was once falling into a ditch to create a warm, light-filled home while preserving its original character. A standout feature is the bespoke oak frame glazed lobby, an architectural link that seamlessly connects the main living spaces to the plant areas.

During works to a locally listed building in Norfolk, the removal of a modern undesirable suspended ceiling uncovered a series of original decorative mouldings that had been concealed for decades.

Moments like this highlight the importance of careful renovation and heritage-led by design. By stripping back later alterations we can rediscover and preserve the architectural craftsmanship that defines historic buildings.

These details now inform the ongoing design approach, ensuring the character of the building is retained while adapting the space for modern use.

A first look at our Grade II listed barn conversion in Norfolk which is now under construction 🏡.

A historic barn, reimagined.

This project carefully balances heritage conservation with contemporary architecture, transforming a historic agricultural structure into a modern living space while preserving its character and craftmanship.

The barn will be restored and preserved sensitively, respecting the buildings history and the surrounding Norfolk landscape.

We are excited to share some progress of construction for a project which began on site the beginning of 2026 for a bespoke wrap around extension in Suffolk.

This thoughtfully designed home transformation blends traditional and contemporary materials and detailing whilst incorporating the existing context of the dwelling creating a seamless connection between old and new.

DAG Architecture provided all planning, building regulation and construction details and currently providing further project management services.

From initial concept through to completion, we ensure every stage is carefully considered and professionally delivered.

Another DAG Architecture Barn Conversion in Suffolk!

Currently on site in rural Suffolk, this large traditional agricultural saw mill barn is being carefully transformed into a contemporary self build home.

A balance of heritage character and modern craftsmanship designed for contemporary rural living with exposed timbers and trusses.

Slab is poured, insulation going on the walls with more progress to follow which we will share as the build continues.

This project reflects our approach, considered design, strong material choices, and architecture that responds to its setting with a series of contemporary extensions designed to respect the original architecture while enhancing how the house is lived in today. Planning is approved and construction is underway.
