Here are some before and after photos of some EICR remedials we completed last month in Exeter 📸📍

Twin and earth feeding the garage ran externally with no UV/Mechanical protection lacking cable supports throughout its run along with a Halogen floodlight with unsatisfactory connections and fed using twin and earth. Fitted Kopex to cable and metal zip tied to the catenary wire and replaced floodlight for LED and redone unsatisfactory connections and fitted IP Wiska box.

Came to this property to fit some decorative lights for the customer and to add another light fitting in the GF hallway. The ceilings were being re-boarded and after I completed the 1st fix, a week later got a message from the customer stating that the GF hallway lights were staying permanently on. The ceilings had been boarded and skimmed by the time I attended for the 2nd fix. After some investigation and head-scratching I had found the point where the cable was damaged, the plasterer had screwed through the multi core cable going down to the switch and shorted between switched live and permanent live and just missing the CPC. Made off maintenance free inline connections and used heat shrinking to encase the joint ⚡️

Adapt & Overcome 💡

A bathroom we 2nd fixed recently, the builder had brought out the towel rail cable in the wrong position down to poor communication between the both of us. Using photos from the 1st fix I managed to cut the dry liner box where it should’ve been and retrieved the cabling and the builder filled the hole in the tiles and it was also covered by the towel rail too.
