⚔️ Timber decking to rival them all

Built with enough timber to give Noah a run for his money 🦒🐘

This was a full garden transformation — designed with a zone for every occasion and positioned to catch the sun from every angle

A project this size meant plenty of groundwork too. With all the excess soil, we were able to level out the lower garden area, leaving it ready for fresh turf 🌱

Other works included:
• Feather edge fencing
• Picket fence installation
• Sleeper retaining wall
• Bespoke balustrade with a matching gate

All materials supplied by Southern Timber across 3 large deliveries 🚛

Waste cleared by Mike MM Furness Waste Disposal (Far cheaper than a skip) 🤝

And of course, Maple was on site every step of the way… making the most of the sunshine and supervising the job 🐶

🤐Unpopular opinion: I think the rail side actually looks just as good as the feather side🪶

There’s always a big debate when getting a new fence about who gets the “good side,” especially when it’s shared with neighbours 🏡

Traditionally, the featheredge side is considered the good side but in reality it completely depends on the situation and what best suits the space 💫

👨‍⚖️ In this case, the customer’s garden already had the rails showing on the other boundary, with the neighbours having the feathered side. So it made sense to keep everything consistent across the garden.

Simple details like cutting posts evenly and spacing the rails properly all add to the overall look.

benefit of the rails this side is having solid fixing points for trellis, decorative panels, or climbing plants 🌿

So what do you reckon — is there really a better side? 🤷‍♂️

🏆 Congratulations to Maple on completing her first year of probation 🍁

It’s been a hairy road, with a few falling-outs and the odd hole dug but somehow she’s made it through and secured a permanent position as Site Supervisor ✍️

A huge thank you to every customer who’s allowed Maple to come along to work. It’s never a given but it is genuinely appreciated.

Here’s to year two 🐶💼

🪵 Sawn Creations - No trick just treats 🎃

🐛 This one came out beautifully!

🪾 With stick season rolling in and fences starting to fall, you can still always rope me into another bit of decking 🔨

The diagonal board layout really makes this one stand out and it’s not just for looks. This design helped reduce waste by making use of offcuts for the shorter sections, keeping costs down. It also meant no unsightly cuts around the manhole cover, giving a clean, seamless finish while allowing the decking to expand and contract freely around the edge 🦋
