Caught this suspicious-looking fella outside my front door yesterday!

Black clothes, bag full of tools, looking VERY interested in my locks! 👀

Turns out he's from a company called LOCKFIT.

And what happened next was ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS! 😱

🔑 MADE MY LOCK WORK FIRST TIME!

🚪 STOPPED MY FRONT DOOR FROM STICKING!

🔐 REPLACED MY KNACKERED OLD LOCK!

💷 DIDN'T EVEN CHARGE A CALL-OUT FEE!

But here's the WORST part… 🤬

For TWO YEARS I've been telling the wife our front door is too dodgy to leave the house unattended.

The PERFECT excuse to avoid Sunday lunch at the mother-in-law's!

TWO YEARS OF PEACE… DESTROYED IN 30 MINUTES! 😭🤣

Now the door works perfectly, the wife has booked us in for Sunday, and apparently we're staying for dessert!

And the cheeky sod even cleaned up after himself and left a 12-MONTH GUARANTEE!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! 😂

🚪 If you have to slam your door, lift the handle at a 45-degree angle, pull it towards you, give it a little hip-check and whisper a prayer just to get it locked…

It’s probably time to get it fixed. 😂

You’d be surprised how many people tell me:

“It’s been like that for years.”

A stiff or awkward uPVC door often starts with something relatively simple, like the door dropping or going out of alignment. Keep forcing it and eventually the locking mechanism can give up too — turning a small repair into a much more expensive one.

Just a quick message to all of our customers.

I'd like to apologise to everyone I've had to turn down or haven't been able to get to recently.

Most of you know it's usually myself and my wife, Casey, who cover the day-to-day running of our business. We normally split the workload to make sure we can help as many customers as possible.

Unfortunately, my van was recently written off in an accident, which has meant I'm currently trying to cover all of the jobs on my own. As much as I'd love to help everyone who gets in touch, there simply aren't enough hours in the day at the moment.

I really appreciate everyone's patience, understanding, and the continued recommendations and support. It genuinely means a lot.

I just want to make local residents aware that there has been a rise in locksmith scams in our area recently.

Some of these companies are operating under multiple different website names and advertising very low call out prices prices to get the call — then charging significantly more once on site. ( Usually over 10x what quoted )

Before booking any locksmith, I’d strongly recommend checking genuine customer reviews and making sure you’re using a trusted local business.

⚠️ Local Warning: Rogue “Locksmith” Scams on the Rise ⚠️

I want to make local residents aware of a huge increase in scam locksmiths operating across our area — something that’s now been highlighted by the BBC.

These scammers often: • Advertise online claiming to be “local”
• Arrive in unmarked vehicles
• Drill locks unnecessarily
• Quote a low price, then demand hundreds of pounds more once the job has started
• Pressure people to pay immediately

Sadly, they tend to target people when they’re already stressed — locked out, late at night, or in an emergency.

How to protect yourself: ✔️ Check the business name and reviews before calling
✔️ Ask for a clear price before work starts
✔️ Be wary of anyone who won’t give a proper invoice
✔️ Genuine locksmiths don’t need to drill most locks
✔️ If it doesn’t feel right, stop the job

I’m a genuine local locksmith, properly trained, insured, and transparent with pricing — and I hate seeing people taken advantage of like this.
