☀️ Keeping our training up to date

Yesterday we attended a GSE Integration training course, making sure we continue to install our in-roof solar systems to the highest standards.

Keeping up to date with manufacturer training means our customers can continue to benefit from the 10-year GSE warranty on their in-roof system, along with the reassurance that it’s being installed correctly by a trained installer.

We’re big fans of the GSE in-roof system — it gives solar installations a clean, integrated finish that looks like part of the roof rather than an addition to it.

Another bit of training completed and another way we’re making sure our installations are built to last. ⚡️☀️

🔋 Think battery storage is only for homes with solar? Think again.

A home battery can be charged overnight when electricity is cheaper, then used to power your home during the more expensive periods of the day.

Already have solar? Even better — store more of the energy you generate rather than sending it back to the grid.

We design and install battery storage systems around your actual energy usage, with options including whole-home backup, smart monitoring and future solar integration.

And with 0% VAT on domestic battery installations, now could be a great time to look at whether battery storage makes sense for your home.

⚡️ OLD OUT. NEW IN. ☀️🔋

Another full solar & battery upgrade completed this week.

We started by removing the existing solar PV system, both from the roof and internally, before replacing it with a modern LONGi + Sigenergy system designed to make much better use of the energy generated on site.

While the existing system was removed, we also took the opportunity to carry out some essential roof maintenance — repairing the leadwork around the chimney and replacing damaged roof tiles before installing the new array.

The new installation includes:

☀️ 13 × 480W LONGi solar panels — 6.24kWp total
🐦 Full bird protection mesh around the array
🏠 Leadwork repairs & replacement of damaged roof tiles
⚡ New dedicated renewables distribution board for the PV & battery system
🔋 Sigenergy 5kW inverter
🔋 9.04kWh Sigenergy battery storage

The battery allows excess solar generated during the day to be stored and used later in the evening, helping reduce reliance on the grid and make more use of the energy produced on the roof.

And, as with our installations, the job is fully backed up with:

✅ MCS certification
✅ Workmanship warranty
✅ NICEIC electrical certification

A complete upgrade from an ageing solar installation to a modern solar + battery energy system, with the roof left in great condition ready for years of generation ahead. ☀️⚡️🔋

☀️ There’s Never Been a Better Time to Go Solar ☀️

With electricity prices remaining unpredictable and smart battery technology becoming more advanced than ever, investing in solar has never made more sense.

By generating your own clean electricity, you can:

✅ Cut your energy bills significantly
✅ Protect yourself from future price rises
✅ Store excess energy in a battery for use day and night
✅ Charge your EV with your own solar power
✅ Increase your home’s value and improve its energy efficiency
✅ Reduce your carbon footprint

Modern solar systems are more efficient, more reliable, and more affordable than ever before. Combined with intelligent battery storage, you can maximise every unit of electricity your roof generates.

At SL Electricals, we design every system specifically for your home and energy usage—helping you get the very best return on your investment.
