Realising you’re short of membrane, adhesive or trims can quickly put a job behind schedule.

Plytech offers next-day UK delivery on stocked EPDM roofing products ordered before 12 noon, helping you get the materials you need without losing unnecessary time.

We hold strong stock levels across RubberCover, QuickTrim, QuickBond and associated tapes, primers and accessories. The team can check availability and confirm delivery arrangements when you place your order.

For anything time-sensitive, give us a call as early as possible. We’ll always be straightforward about what is in stock and when it can reach you.

August Bank Holiday Opening Information 📅

A quick reminder that the Plytech trade counter will be closed on Monday 31 August for the Summer Bank Holiday.

There will be no trade counter collections or order dispatches that day, and delivery times around the long weekend may be slightly different from normal.

If you need RubberCover, QuickTrim, QuickBond or any other materials for work taking place over the bank holiday period, please place your order as early as possible. The team can confirm availability and the most suitable dispatch date when you order.

We’ll reopen as normal on Tuesday 1 September.

What’s your best Installer Tip? 🔨

Roofing knowledge isn’t only found in instruction manuals. Some of the most useful advice comes from installers who have spent years finding practical ways to make jobs run more smoothly.

We’d like to hear the EPDM or flat roofing tip that you regularly pass on to other roofers.

It could be something you do while preparing the deck, laying out the membrane, applying adhesive or finishing a difficult detail. Send your tip to the Plytech team, together with your name or business name.

Does EPDM need to relax before bonding?

Yes. Once the EPDM membrane has been unrolled and positioned on the roof, it should be given time to relax before you begin bonding it.

Depending on the weather conditions, this normally takes around 15 to 30 minutes. It allows tension and creases caused by the membrane being rolled and stored to settle naturally.

Use that time to check the positioning, overhangs and alignment before folding the membrane back to apply the adhesive. Avoid stretching or pulling it tightly into place.

It’s a small pause in the installation, but it can help make the bonding stage much easier and produce a neater result.

Myth vs Fact 🔍

MYTH: Applying more adhesive will create a stronger EPDM roof.

FACT: Correct preparation, coverage and drying time are more important than simply using more product.

Over-applying adhesive or allowing it to pool can cause problems rather than improve the bond. The roof deck should be clean and completely dry, and the adhesive should be applied evenly in line with the product instructions.

Contact adhesive must also be allowed to flash off. It should feel tacky, but not wet or stringy, before the membrane is bonded.

With roofing adhesives, following the correct process is far more effective than applying an unnecessarily heavy coat.
