Remembering the late Television Presenter Paul O'Grady.

14th June 1955 - 28th March 2023.

Paul James O'Grady was an English comedian, broadcaster, drag queen, actor, and writer. He achieved notability in the London gay scene during the 1980s with his drag persona Lily Savage, through which he gained wider popularity in the 1990s. O'Grady subsequently dropped the character and in the 2000s became the presenter of various television and radio shows, including The Paul O'Grady Show.

ABOUT
English comedian, actor, and presenter who hosted his own self-titled show and occasionally transformed into his alter ego Lily Savage. He also presented several travel documentaries as well as documentaries about animals.

BEFORE FAME
He served in the Royal Air Force after working as a clerical assistant in Liverpool. He went on to make his entertainment debut at the Black Cap gay pub in Camden, where he first performed in drag under the name Lily Savage.

TRIVIA
He once produced his own radio show, and he played Ray Temple in the TV series Eyes Down from 2003 to 2004.

FAMILY LIFE
Despite being openly gay, he was previously married to Teresa Fernandes. His parents, Patrick and Mary were devout Catholics.

ASSOCIATED WITH
He mimed the words to a Barbara Streisand song while portraying his alter ego Lily.

IT IS IN THE MOST DIFFICULT MOMENTS OF LIFE YOU REALIZE WHO YOUR REAL FAMILY, FRIENDS OR PEOPLE ARE THAT REALLY HAVE YOUR BACK....... PEOPLE'S TRUE COLORS COME OUT WHEN THE ATTENTION ISN'T ON THEM 🤬..... UNFORTUNATELY, SOME FRIENDS ARE GOING TO PRESS "LIKE", BUT NOT REALLY READ IT BECAUSE IT TAKES TIME TO READ THIS STATEMENT AND WHEN THEY SEE THAT IT IS LONG, THEY SKIP IT.
NOW I LOOK AT THOSE WHO TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS POST UNTIL THE END ..... (I THINK I WILL DISCOVER THAT 5 MAYBE 6 WILL........ CANCER IS VERY INVASIVE AND HARMFUL, EVEN AFTER THE END OF TREATMENT YOUR BODY IS STILL STRUGGLING TO RESTORE THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY RADIATION/CHEMOTHERAPY.......IT IS A VERY LONG PROCESS.... (100% TRUE)
PLEASE, IN HONOR OF A FAMILY MEMBER, A FRIEND WHO DIED, IS STILL FIGHTING CANCER OR EVEN HAD CANCER BUT BEAT IT, COPY AND PASTE (DON'T JUST SHARE) ON YOUR PAGE......
