Back in 2001, the first iPod had just been launched, Wikipedia was brand new, and Gary Gasiorowski and Andy Palmer were starting out at progressive.

25 years later, the iPod’s gone, but Gary and Andy are still here.

Two people who’ve seen it all, done it all, and are still a massive part of what makes progressive tick.

Thanks for everything, both of you. Happy 25th work anniversary 🎉

That’s a wrap on Bartles Foundry ✅

Working with Fox Construction Solutions, we’ve delivered the full roofing and cladding package for Cornish Metals at South Crofty.

Bartles Foundry is one of two new buildings helping to bring South Crofty back to life as a modern, working mine. It will act as the welcoming gateway to the site, housing engineering and storage facilities alongside welfare spaces for the miners and above-ground teams who keep it running.

On the roof is the Kingspan PowerPanel system, which combines roofing and solar in one. Each pre-assembled panel was over 10 metres long and lifted individually by crane onto a 35° pitch, with the 4 Cladding Services CB4 CladBoy helping us place every one safely and accurately.

Not bad news to end the week. We’re finalists! 🎉

We’ve only gone and made the shortlist for both the Construction Champions and Best Business in Business awards 🏆

Being shortlisted is great, but the best bit is knowing people thought enough of us to put our name forward. So thank you, genuinely.

Bring on 19th November.

£16,150, that's what our 13th annual golf day raised this year!

We set out to beat last year's £15,020, and you smashed it. Honestly, the generosity from everyone involved never stops amazing us.

The funds raised go directly to local charities and community groups, including Hospiscare, Shekinah Mission Plymouth, Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, Exeter City Community Trust, Exeter Cheifs Cycling, Topsham RFC, Cranbrook Town FC and many more.

To our sponsors, players and supporters: thank you. You made this happen ❤️

progressive AGM 2026 🎬

We did things a bit differently this year.

We took the team to Exeter City Football Club for a day that mixed the serious stuff with plenty of fun. Our team kicked things off with updates from across the business, then we handed over to some brilliant guests.

Paul Mattin from Wilderness Solutions got us working together with a team building session, then told us about reaching the South Pole with the Royal Marines. His team were the first military personnel to get there in nearly 100 years. Hard to complain about a tough week on site after hearing that.

Rob Allison from Auditel talked us through carbon reporting, something that's only getting more important for us and our clients.

And to finish, Daniel Laverton and the team from Big Night Events ran The Faithfuls Game, a Traitors-themed session. We won't name names, but some of our team are far too good at lying with a straight face.

A big thank you to everyone from our team who presented: Megan Oram, Luke Hardware, Andy Smith, Brad Steer, Ryan Cartlidge, Sam Stewart, James Rayner, Levi Stephens, Will Cullen, Zac Phillips, Paul Wood, Aaron Wakeley, Ryan Swift and Jess Bassett.

And thanks to Paul, Rob, Daniel and the Big Night Events team, and to Exeter City FC for looking after us.

Ryan knows a thing or two about working at height. On Sunday he took it to a whole new level ⛰️

Our Health & Safety Manager ran The Dartmoor Beast for Hospiscare. That's 20 miles and 3,399ft of climbing through river crossings, woodland, open moorland and bog, topping out at High Willhays. At 2,037ft, it's the highest point south of the Brecon Beacons and officially a mountain.

He did it in 4 hours 26 minutes, through wind and rain, all in support of the brilliant work Hospiscare does in our local community 💙

A big shout out to the Hospiscare marshals, who stayed upbeat out on Dartmoor in that weather, and to everyone involved in organising the day. Thank you and well done to all the runners who braved it alongside Ryan.

Well done Ryan. That medal was well and truly earned 🏅

When a section of this flat roof at Cornwall Airport Newquay blew off and folded back on itself, the client needed a proper fix, fast.

We stripped the damaged area right back to the steel decking, then rebuilt it with a new warm roof build-up to bring it level again. New perimeter flashing and drip trim went in, followed by around 130m2 of Langley PMMA cold applied liquid roofing system laid over the top.

The weather played ball, and with PMMA's fast curing time, our 2 man specialist gang had it wrapped up in 5 days. Seamless, watertight, and built to last.

progressive fully supports the NFRC Cut the Dust campaign, and we've received our certificate to confirm it.

Falls from height rightly get a lot of attention in roofing. Silica dust doesn't get the same airtime, and it should. It's invisible, the effects build up over time, and it can cause lung cancer, silicosis and COPD.

The rules are clear under COSHH, and this isn't optional. But rules alone don't change what happens on a roof. Behaviour does.

Cut the Dust is about making effective dust control the standard on every job. If it creates dust, control it. If it can't be controlled, stop and rethink. And if controls aren't being used, step up and put it right.

The certificate is the easy part. The real work is what happens on site every day.

If you're a roofer, contractor or supplier, take a look at the pledge and get involved.

Details. 🔍

Six years on, and The City Arcade in the heart of Exeter still looks exactly how it should.

We completed the roofing and cladding on this 4-storey building back in 2020, and we were passing the other day and snapped some pictures. 📷

Still looking good, wouldn't you say? 💬
