Exciting times ahead at Winslade Park...

LEAN is delighted to be progressing work here, with the creation of ‘The Forge’ by Winslade Manor. We are now in the closing stages of this project which is due for completion later this month.

The Forge is set to be a multi-use contemporary event space, including; a cafe, deli bar, and event space set to host conferencing, weddings, private dining, and concerts for up to 400 people.

It has been a pleasure to work with Joe Hammond & Chef Matt Mason on bringing this project to life.

We look forward to seeing this in full operation very soon.

Today work commences on our brand new project; a fantastic new Mayfair restaurant for the luxury seafood brand, Saltie Girl.

Saltie Girl is a celebrated seafood bar known for serving the highest quality sustainable seafood in the world including Oysters, Lobsters, Tins and Caviar.

LEAN are proud to be leading the delivery of this 14-week project in the heart of the capital.

Meet Francesca!

Fran joined the LEAN team in an Office Manager capacity, to help meet the ever-increasing demands behind the scenes. Get to know Fran below...

Why LEAN?

Having known Nick for years but never having worked together, I knew him to be someone with integrity, self-conviction, and drive. I think the team would join me in saying there’s a great deal of camaraderie and a strong team spirit which is super motivating!

What is your previous experience?

My background is in Marketing, working for a global advertising agency where I learnt the power of truth well told. After which I moved into Education, focusing on inspiring children through learning.

What are you passionate about?

My passions in life are travel, outdoor adventure, well-being and creativity and I’m always looking for ways to manifest these into my job, so we’ll see where this takes me and LEAN in the future!

We wanted to create our home at Winslade Park, as it was clear from the outset what an amazing community this is going to be on completion.

Our goal? Create an environment that our team are really proud of, an inspirational space where people want to work and collaborate from.

The vision to give the best people, the best tools, in the best environment has now become a reality. With state-of-the-art technology throughout our space, connectivity and integration with our team members and supply chain partners throughout the country is now effortless.

Whilst an open plan, co-working hub was essential to ensure close interaction amongst the team, individual privacy can be found in our connected soundproof pod.

We also wanted to embrace the brutalist design adopted throughout Winslade House, and thus finished our walls in a specialist faux concrete render.

We look forward to seeing you soon, at our new home here at Winslade House!

Welcome, Tom!

Tom has recently joined the LEAN team as a Quantity Surveyor, and we are absolutely delighted to have him on board. Prior to joining LEAN, Tom worked for Tier One main contractors, successfully delivering a range of projects, including local hospitals, schools, universities and offices. Tom will be a brilliant asset to the team, and will play a pivotal part in our growth plans for 2022 and beyond.

Why LEAN?

The first thing that attracted me to LEAN is the fact they are an exciting new company to work for, with some great people in the business! For me, the opportunity to work for a business like this was too good to turn down.

How has it been so far?

Great! The team have been really welcoming and have helped me settle in easily.

What are your future career goals?

Personally, I’d like to continue to grow my contacts and reputation in the construction industry. I’d also like to be an integral part of LEAN and help the business to grow and succeed over many years.

Welcome to Winslade House!

Located on the grounds of the stunning Winslade Park on the outskirts of Exeter, LEAN are delivering the refurbishment of the 106,000 Sq. Ft building, creating multi-tenanted offices, high-quality open-plan spaces, a dedicated reception area, along with Gym facilities, cycle storage, showers, and a food offering.

This £7.5m project commenced in April, and is due for completion in January 2022 for our client Burrington Estates. In the new year, we look forward to welcoming some brilliant local companies into these offices including Coreus Group KTA

With such a large site, this project has certainly had its challenges. Material availability has been a huge issue in the industry, meaning advanced planning and early package procurement has been essential. We have replaced over 1,400 double glazed windows alone!

Meet Nick, Company Founder.

We caught up with Nick to discuss all things LEAN...

• Tell us about why you started LEAN?

It was a case of now or never in my career. It has always been a goal of mine to run my own business, and after working with the UK’s leading leisure industry specialists for 16 years, I was confident I had gained the relevant experience.

So, I decided it was the right time for me to give it a go!

• What is your experience/background?

I have been working in the industry for over 22 years and delivered many prestigious projects in some of London’s most iconic buildings.

My focus is always on the successful delivery of projects whilst ensuring all parties have a positive and enjoyable experience.

• What have been your highlights so far?

There are too many!

I have been lucky enough to work on many incredibly exciting projects and I couldn’t possibly single one out. They all come with their own challenges, but all rewarding nonetheless.
