A great finish starts long before the first coat of paint goes on!

🐾 MEET TED

When it’s a work from home office day, there’s always one colleague who’s guaranteed to turn up… 😼

Ted takes his role very seriously. Supervising the emails, checking the paperwork and, most importantly, making sure there are plenty of opportunities for breaks. 😂

He may not know much about painting and decorating, but he’s an expert in desk supervision, strategic napping and being a professional distraction. 🐈

Every home office needs a Ted! ❤️

IT’S ALL IN THE PREPARATION 🎨

A beautiful finish starts long before the final coat of paint goes on.

Here, we’re carefully preparing the woodwork around these stunning windows, while also tackling areas of damaged and peeling paintwork around the room.

Proper preparation is key to achieving a finish that not only looks fantastic, but stands the test of time. From scraping and preparing surfaces to filling, sanding and applying the right products the detail matters. 👌

It might not be the most glamorous part of decorating, but it’s one of the most important!

Small Room. Big Personality. 🖤🌿

It may be the smallest room in the house, but lately these little spaces have become the perfect place to be daring with bold prints, rich colours and plenty of character.

For this transformation, we paired a statement Cath Kidston wallpaper with the gorgeous deep blue Bond Street No.219 by Mylands – and we love how the two work together.

The bathroom suite and radiator are from Victoria Plum, with the installation completed by one of our trusted installers, RYRO Plumbing & Heating Ltd.

Proof that even the smallest room deserves just as much attention as the rest of your home. ✨

Christmas in August?! 🎄😂

It might seem a little early for the Christmas party… but when you're part of the Timlin & Marshall team, December is one of the busiest times of the year!

With everyone working hard and diaries filling up over the festive season, we decided there was only one solution… bring the Christmas party forward! 🥂🎉

A great chance for the team to get together, have some fun and celebrate another year of hard work. Even if the Christmas jumpers aren't quite out yet! 😂

Here's most of the brilliant team behind Timlin & Marshall that made it for the night out 🍻🎨

Throwback to a Large Hotel Exterior Renovation 🎨

A project where quality, preparation and timing were equally important.

We carried out exterior decorations to all exterior woodwork, using Johnstone’s Flexible Oil Based Satin. We prefer to use oil based systems across our exterior work, providing the timber with the protection and durable finish it needs to withstand the elements.

The chosen colour was the beautiful Farrow & Ball Joa’s White, giving the hotel a fresh yet timeless finish.

Being a large hotel renovation, working to a tight timeframe was essential, but never at the expense of the standard of finish.

For the preparation and finishing, we used:

🔨 Repair care resin repairs for the larger areas requiring restoration
🛠️ Toupret 7 Day Glazing Putty Replacement
🎨 Johnstone’s exterior paint systems

A great example of why thorough preparation and the right products are just as important as the final coat.
