When our client, Imran, recently added a new garage to his property, the existing entrance width restricted vehicle access.
Initial discussions between our surveyor Tom, Imran, and his builder centred on a 1-metre gate extension combined with a newly constructed brick wall. By reviewing the structural requirements and material costs, we identified that extending the gate frame itself by a full 2 metres, rather than introducing new masonry, provided a significantly more cost-effective and practical outcome.
Therefore, we manufactured a 2m steel extension, with a precision cut-out for the relocated running wheel, and a hot-dip galvanised finish for long-term corrosion resistance.
The expanded opening now comfortably accommodates parking for three vehicles.
Credit to our engineer Costa for an immaculate installation from start to finish. We received exceptional feedback from Imran, which highlights the value of building durable systems designed to evolve with a client's needs.
