I did this door a couple of years ago in oil gloss and it was time for a refresh. The door gets sun all day so we went for a lighter colour to reflect the heat. The wood around the bottom panels is non existent so it was all dug out and built up again using resin filler. Oil gives a smooth finish but with multiple coats required, having to leave the door open for hours is inconvenient so we used Dulux Weathershield water based satin. Its a brushier finish than oil but if done right it still looks great and is more flexible as these doors move a lot through the seasons. Finally the furniture was all polished up and refitted and now looks fantastic!
