Testing for the Duke & Duchess of Grafton at Euston Hall :-)

Usually it’s my photography that takes me to amazing places, but today PatStop got the honour of working at this stunning Estate.

Built in the 17th century and home to generations of the Grafton family, it’s one of those reminders of how much heritage we’ve got here in Blighty.

Felt really well looked after today, and I’m happy to report all the appliances were in great shape.

I had a fantastic day at the stunning Worlington Hall!

You might recognize this beautiful room from their success on Four in a Bed. I was there to carry out their annual PAT testing, and I can honestly say the high standards they show on TV are the real deal.

Every electrical appliance passed with flying colours—this team takes guest safety just as seriously as their incredible hospitality. It was a pleasure to work in such a gorgeous setting with such a lovely crew.

A favourite testing job, where I get to sit in a lovely kitchen area with a decent coffee machine whilst appliances are brought to me ❤️

They’ve even got a Sonos sound system 😮

I love to see staff looked after in a work place, it doesn’t take a lot really, clean kettle & nice cups, a microwave and fridge, provide a few nice snacks and some nice music. All helps create a nicer working environment for happier staff that must even increase productivity 💯

🏠 Electrical Safety Check: How Safe is Your Home? 🏠

Did you know that over 90% of electrical faults can be spotted just by looking? 🧐 You don’t need a fancy tester to do a quick safety sweep of your house this weekend.

Here is the PatStop 5-Point Home Check:

1️⃣ The Plug: Check for any cracks, loose pins, or brown "scorch" marks.
2️⃣ The Screws: If the plug isn't "moulded" (plastic), give the screws a tiny turn with a screwdriver to make sure they're tight. 🪛
3️⃣ The Grip: The white outer part of the cable should be firmly gripped inside the plug. If you can see the coloured wires (blue/brown) poking out, it’s a fail! ❌
4️⃣ The Cable: Run your hand along the wire (when unplugged!). Feel for any lumps, cuts, or fraying. Tape is NOT a fix!
5️⃣ The Appliance: Check the casing for cracks or holes where little fingers or dust could get in.
