Really enjoying these textured cards- working much faster, changing my mind halfway through, and having fun with a looser style!

Head-on paintings have been pretty humbling for me lately (I realise this is a pig and not a person 😅)
Even so, it feels like there’s just… less to work with. No overlaps, symmetry becomes a trap, and every tiny misalignment yelling.

What helps me:
→ use light to break the symmetry
→ use brush direction to carve planes
→ mix soft + sharp edges for depth (sharpest where I want you to look)

That said… my real fail-safe is simply to turn it into a 3/4 view. Highly recommend 😂🐖

Belated birthday present for my mum. Finally framed and up! 🤍

Off to see the rest of the family today for Christmas Pt. 2… and I’m starting to think photography lessons might be a solid gift for me 🙈📸🎄
