🌱 It has been a very busy few weeks here again at DFR Groundworks! 💪

The team has been flat out at various locations across the shire with land preparation and reseeding work for local customers, alongside compost bay construction works for NTS. Great to see everything coming together and even better seeing the grass already starting to appear through in under a week in places! 😎👌

Big thanks to everyone keeping us busy and to the team for the late evenings and weekend work. And also thanks to our customers who have booked in with us and are waiting patiently for us to get to them.

Last but not least we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the support of our equipment supplier support team keeping our machines running and serviced. They do really go above and beyond our expectations.

Another great project completed by the team at DFR Groundworks 👷‍♂️🚧

Over the past 3 weeks 🗓️, we’ve been hard at work at the recently renovated racquets court at Fyvie Castle 🏰 for the National Trust for Scotland.
The job covered a wide range of works including but not limited to, repairing and replacing drains 💧, installing downpipe gulleys and chambers, laying fibre optic ducting 📡, land clearance 🌱, ground preparation 🚜, de-stoning, topsoil spreading, reseeding 🌾, and finishing with red brindle aggregate dressing 🔴.

A big well done to the team 👏 with special thanks to Pete, Ross, Euan and Daniel for their hard work, skill, and attention to detail throughout delivering fantastic results on a historic site ⭐
Also a big thanks to J&M Strang for delivering the aggregate and topsoil.

🚜 Another busy week for the DFR Groundworks team.🌲🌳

We excavated and prepared an area to allow space for a new plant nursery for the NTS at Leith Hall, just outside Huntly. 🪴🌷Around 250 tonnes of topsoil dug out and retained onsite with membrane installation thereafter. Hardcore moved in, spread and rolled to make a clean level surface. Finished off the job with a set of simple steps leading into the garden to allow worker access.

Great to be part of improving such a quality site 🌿

The team has been hard at work over the last 2 days at Castle Fraser for the National Trust for Scotland 👷‍♂️

We’ve been repairing a badly potholed aggregate drive down to the events field using our Avant power rake, grinding it down, creating a crown and restoring it to a smooth, safe surface ready for visitors and events.

Great effort from the team and always a pleasure working at such a stunning historic location 🙌

🌲Today, the DFR Groundworks team completed another woodland clearance operation mounding brash and removing stumps at Fyvie Castle on behalf of the National Trust for Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Ideal weather for completing this type of work.

🚧 Today’s Job Complete 🚧

We were asked if we could assist with repairing a potholed private road.
Using the Avant with power rake, we ground the surface down and reprofiled the road with our tilting grading beam creating a crown to help water run off more effectively.
Compacted using a heavy roller to leave a smooth, durable surface 👌
Jobs like this are easier with the right kit.

🌳 This week the DFR Groundworks team had the pleasure of working at Drum Castle 🏰

The team were upgrading a footpath leading into the old oak wood which is a SSSI on behalf of National Trust for Scotland 🍃 helping improve access while keeping the woodland looking natural 🌲

For this project we used our bespoke Path Maker – Rev 2 which we are constantly developing🛠️🚜 as this allows us to shape and finish paths efficiently while keeping a clean, consistent result through woodland terrain.

We always really enjoy working on projects for the National Trust for Scotland and really appreciate the opportunity to help look after special places like this 🙌🌿

A big thank you as well to members of the public for their patience while the work was being carried out 👍🙂
