🌍🚜🌱 And that’s a wrap on reseeding for 2026! 🌱🚜🌍

That’s the last of this year’s reseeding work completed! ✅

We don’t take on any reseeding work after Sept due to autumnal weather conditions and we like to have the grass well established to survive the winter.

A massive thank you to all our lovely customers for keeping us busy this season. We really appreciate your business, your patience while we worked through the jobs, and of course all the teas and coffees along the way! ☕😄

It’s been great seeing tired and worn lawns given a refresh, new lawns being created from scratch, land cleared and smartened up and of course we have enjoyed the feedback from customers on the results 🌱

📅 Thinking about reseeding next year? Our diary can fill up quickly, so please get in touch early to get booked in for 2027.

🌿 Drum Castle – Walled Garden Project 🌿

Last week we completed the first phase of hedge removal within the walled garden at Drum Castle.

The works involved cutting and removing some of the existing hedges, with Trees R Us assisting by chipping the hedge material. We then removed the remaining stumps and roots before reworking the ground over with as minimal compaction to surrounding grass areas as possible ready for the next phase.

A big thank you to the National Trust for Scotland for giving us the opportunity to be involved in this project at such a fantastic and historic location. It’s a privilege to play a part in the ongoing works within the walled garden.

We’re looking forward to seeing the next phase take shape! 🌳🏰

🌱 What a difference 21 days makes!!

From freshly sown reworked ground to a lush green lawn in just 3 weeks! 👌

It’s always satisfying to see a job come together, but seeing results like this only 21 days after sowing is something else. The customer has done a great job keeping on top of the watering, and the results speak for themselves.

A brilliant transformation and a lawn that will only get better as it continues to establish. 🌿

🚧 Self-Employed Groundworker / Landscaper Wanted🌿🚜.

Due to increased workload in the Aberdeenshire area, DFR Groundworks based near Ellon are looking for a reliable self-employed groundworker/landscaper to join us on an ad hoc basis, with potential for more regular work for the right person 🔨. The work includes, landscaping and groundworks. Operating small plant and excavators (experience essential). General site work and labouring. We are looking for someone who is reliable and turns up on time and can work overtime when required. Takes pride in their work, works well in a team and can work on their own initiative.
Must have own transport and clean driving licence. Hourly rate negotiable depending on experience.

Another great project completed by the team at DFR Groundworks 👷‍♂️🚧

Over the past 3 weeks 🗓️, we’ve been hard at work at the recently renovated racquets court at Fyvie Castle 🏰 for the National Trust for Scotland.
The job covered a wide range of works including but not limited to, repairing and replacing drains 💧, installing downpipe gulleys and chambers, laying fibre optic ducting 📡, land clearance 🌱, ground preparation 🚜, de-stoning, topsoil spreading, reseeding 🌾, and finishing with red brindle aggregate dressing 🔴.

A big well done to the team 👏 with special thanks to Pete, Ross, Euan and Daniel for their hard work, skill, and attention to detail throughout delivering fantastic results on a historic site ⭐
Also a big thanks to J&M Strang for delivering the aggregate and topsoil.
