From asking for a quote to having your building handed back, there is a fair stretch of work in between, and it’s always worth knowing what it looks like.

Site survey, quote, design, install, testing, handover. The shape shifts with the job, but the structure stays consistent and so does the communication.

Knowing the steps on a commercial electrical project, even at a high level, makes the whole thing less stressful to manage.

Another in-roof solar and battery install complete and delivered in a single week.

In-roof installations sit flush with the slate rather than mounting on top, which keeps the look of the building intact and lasts beautifully on a traditional stone roof. The slates around the array area are carefully lifted, the panels and flashing kit fitted properly, and the slates refitted around them so everything sits clean and watertight.

Add a Solax battery to the mix and you have a setup that quietly chips away at the energy bills while looking the part.

Going green and saving money, done properly.

Heads up, homeowners. If you have been thinking about solar panels or a home battery, there is good news worth knowing about.

Right now, solar panels and home batteries are 0% VAT. That’s a real saving on the upfront cost of going solar, and it’s in place until March 2027.

It is not the only thing on the table either. The ECO4 scheme is running until the end of 2026, and the government's Warm Homes plan is putting £15 billion behind home energy upgrades. Between them, the incentives stack up nicely if you are weighing up solar panels, a battery or other ways to bring your energy bills down.

Today is World Renewables Day, and we wanted to mark it properly.

Solar PV, battery storage and EV charging are at the core of what we do at Green View Projects. Every panel on a roof and every battery on a site is a small part of a much bigger shift, one that is making buildings cheaper to run, cleaner to operate and better placed for what comes next.

Thank you to every client and every team working on the renewable side of things. The work matters.

Neat little half day first fix on a domestic kitchen, relocating the existing electrical supplies, installing new socket points and repositioning the pendant light, ready for the next trade to come in.

Small jobs like these often make the biggest difference once the cabinets and worktops go in. Sockets in the right place, lighting where it actually needs to be, and everything set up properly behind the scenes.

Commercial electrical projects look very different from a typical small job, even when the wiring is the same colour.

The scale is bigger, with more circuits, more distribution and far higher loads. The compliance bar is stricter, with formal testing, documentation and sign-off at every stage. The programme is tighter, with electrical work sequenced around groundworks, fit-out, mechanical and finishes, all running to the same deadline.

Then there is the coordination, working alongside the main contractor, the M&E consultant, the designer and the other trades, often on a daily basis. And finally the handover, with full operation and maintenance packs that the building owner or facilities team will refer to for years.

This carousel walks through what really sets a commercial project apart from a smaller installation. Worth a save for the next time you are pulling a brief together.

Charities and third sector organisations are under real pressure to cut energy costs, with every pound saved going straight back into the work that matters.

This is a 43.7 kWp commercial solar PV installation we recently completed for the RSPCA, as part of their Really Big reFURb campaign. Swipe through for the brief, the install and the outcome.

For some electrical contractors, renewable energy work sits alongside everything else as a bolt-on. For Green View Projects, it is the work.

We were designing and installing solar PV, battery storage and EV charging infrastructure long before they became the obvious add-on to a commercial project. Our renewable installations are MCS and RECC certified. The electrical work behind them is sized properly and integrated cleanly, not patched in around the edges.

That matters because the technical decisions on a renewable project, the inverter location, the cable runs, the supply capacity, the metering strategy, all sit at the boundary of electrical and renewable work. Getting it right takes a team that is fluent in both.

If you are planning commercial solar, battery storage or EV charging infrastructure on a new development or an existing site, we would be glad to talk it through on 01422 356222.

A well-dressed distribution board, neatly bundled cables, properly labelled circuits. It looks good in a photo, but the real point of tidy work is technical.

A clean installation is faster to test and certify, easier to fault-find when something does go wrong, simpler to extend when the building grows, and far safer for the next engineer who opens the panel. It is also the clearest signal a building owner has that the rest of the job has been done to the same standard.

Tidy work is one of the things our clients consistently mention back to us, and it is one of our non-negotiables on every site we run. Not because the photo will look nice, although it usually does, but because the building deserves an installation that will still make sense in ten years.

Planning a commercial or industrial electrical project? It is worth setting that standard from day one.

When a commercial space needs to work harder, the electrical setup usually has to change with it.

We recently carried out a fit-out for Salts Mill in Saltaire. The brief was to split one area into two self-contained units, and to do it on a tight one week programme so the space could be brought back into use quickly. Swipe through for the detail.

A one week turnaround on a job like this comes down to planning. Order the right materials early, sequence the work properly, and keep the client informed at every stage.

If you are reconfiguring a commercial space and need the electrical work delivered to a deadline, get in touch on 01422 356222 for a site survey.
