🏠 Madison May is hiring: Site Gas Engineer
Pay: £26,960.25–£49,898.60 per year
We're looking for a skilled Gas Engineer to join our team, working on the installation, maintenance and repair of gas appliances and systems in residential and commercial settings across Yorkshire and the M62 corridor. This isn't a trainee role — applicants must already be, or be able to become, Gas Safe accredited.

Duties:
✔ Install, maintain and repair gas appliances, heating systems and associated pipework
✔ Conduct thorough inspections of gas systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations
✔ Use hand tools, power tools and welding equipment to perform tasks effectively
✔ Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to complete projects efficiently
✔ Carry out heavy lifting as required when moving equipment or materials
✔ Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues to management
✔ Adhere to all health and safety guidelines while on-site
Requirements:
✔ Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role
✔ Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems
✔ Proficiency in plumbing, welding, carpentry and the use of hand and power tools
✔ Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
✔ A valid commercial driving licence is preferred but not mandatory
✔ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
✔ Strong communication skills, comfortable working within a team

🏠 Madison May is hiring: Site Electrician
Pay: £26,960.25–£49,898.60 per year
We're looking for a qualified and experienced electrician to join our team, working on domestic installs across South and West Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work and experience on social housing schemes.

Key duties and responsibilities:
✔ Install, replace and maintain consumer units, circuit wiring, sockets, switches, lighting, showers and other domestic electrical appliances
✔ Install and commission d-MEV (decentralised mechanical extract ventilation) units, ensuring correct electrical connections, controls and ventilation integration
✔ Install and configure time, temperature and zone control systems for heating, ventilation and smart home zoning
✔ Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs in occupied homes
✔ Complete domestic rewires and upgrades, including additions for EV chargers, kitchens and bathrooms

Required skills and qualifications:
✔ Relevant electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent)
✔ Full knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and Part P building regs
✔ ECS/CSCS card or equivalent, 18th/19th Edition endorsement and formal EICR competence
✔ Proven experience in domestic electrical installation, testing and fault diagnosis
✔ Competent in installing and commissioning d-MEV and HVAC-related controls
✔ Experience programming and commissioning time, temperature and zone control systems
✔ Good customer service, communication and time-management skills
✔ Valid driving licence

🏠 WE’RE HIRING – RETROFIT DESIGNER

Madison May is growing and we’re looking for an experienced Retrofit Designer to join our team.

We need someone who understands buildings, not just drawings.

You’ll be working on a varied portfolio of retrofit and refurbishment projects across the North of England and North Wales – from individual and traditional properties through to major housing programmes.

We’re looking for someone who can:

✔ Carry out accurate measured site surveys
✔ Produce high-quality technical designs in Autodesk Revit
✔ Understand existing buildings, construction and Building Regulations
✔ Develop practical, buildable retrofit details
✔ Work confidently with clients, contractors and other professionals
✔ Manage their own projects and workload
✔ Potentially lead and develop a small design team as we grow

Experience of PAS 2035, retrofit, building physics, energy efficiency or low-energy construction would be a major advantage.

This isn't an entry-level CAD role. We’re looking for someone experienced, technically capable and comfortable taking responsibility for their work.

In return, you’ll have the opportunity to play an important role in a growing specialist business, working on some genuinely interesting and challenging buildings.
