A familiar face is back at Mill Architects!

We’re very pleased to welcome Pete Miller back to the Mill team, joining us as Senior Technician.

Pete first joined Mill Architects in 2019 as an Architectural Technician, so it’s great to have him back with us in 2026, this time stepping into a senior role.

Pete holds an HNC in Architectural Technology from Edinburgh Telford College and an Honours degree in Interior Architecture from Edinburgh Napier University, bringing a great combination of technical knowledge and design experience to the practice.

His return adds further experience to our team as we continue to work across rural, residential, heritage and conservation projects throughout Scotland.

A closer look at the conservation work behind the transformation of Norton Park Business and Conference Centre Edinburgh.

Its roof comprises 19 separate slopes, with pitches reaching 55 degrees and original Westmorland green slates believed to be at least 125 years old.

We initially hoped some of those historic slates could be salvaged and reused. Once the roof was stripped, however, their condition became fully apparent and none were suitable for reuse.

For Jo Parry-Geddes, it is a good example of conservation in practice: understanding what you have, retaining what you can and being prepared to adapt when the building reveals something different.

Scottish Agritourism is delighted to announce the appointment of two new voluntary directors to our skills-based Board. The additions come as we continue building momentum towards hosting the inaugural Global Agritourism Conference in Aberdeen from 23–25 June 2026, and will enhance and complement the Board’s existing core competencies.

They are:

Richard Webb, partner at Mill Architects Ltd. A Scottish Agritourism Trade Member, Richard is passionate about the sustainable development of Scotland’s rural economy. Having managed a number of large scale investment projects for the agritourism sector, Richard brings strong commercial skills to the board.

Sophie Henderson, Greenburn HR, Sophie brings a vital skill set in legal and HR matters to the Board, along with a grounded appreciation for the challenges and opportunities facing Scotland’s rural enterprises today.
