HOUSE UPDATE:
The house is coming along as we envisioned. With the wedding just around the corner and facing multiple issues from suppliers, I had to go into full Project Manager mode and pull out all the stops to ensure that things will continue smoothly.

The kitchen is due to be completed next week, and the bathroom is also on track to be finished by then.

We had to start painting the whole house, which amazingly was done within 5 days.

It's important to understand that difficulties are inevitable in a construction process, but it's about managing and eliminating the risks that you foresee before they arise.

I hope to have more updated pictures in the following weeks!

Hello all,

Sorry for the silence on my end lately. I've been immersed in my own projects. We recently bought a house and are undertaking extensive renovations since the house is outdated.

The amazing thing about my own projects is that I can have as wild ambitions as I want. Currently, we are stripping the outdated wallpaper for the contractors to come in and plaster the walls. Next up is the bathroom, followed by the kitchen. After that, I'll continue with my own DIY projects to make the house truly ours.

Get to know my work:

When my clients moved into their brand-new Barrett Home, it was amazing to see a property completed to the current building standards and regulations. This was the first house I had worked on where 'most' things were as intended. The house was an amazing blank canvas, which meant the world was their oyster.

Originally, I was only there to perform minimal work by conducting a site inspection for their snagging list. However, after further discussion, I quoted them for carrying out the following works:

Building all the furniture in the property.
Hanging cabinets.
Hanging shelves and frames.
Changing lights.
Snagging inspection.
This was my first major house project, which allowed me to build a great relationship with my clients and expand my portfolio.

Get to know my work:

I recently took on a very difficult and challenging project. My client impulsively decided to demolish their old wardrobe with a hammer, expecting a quick and easy turnaround. However, due to a sudden rush in their own work commitments, they couldn't proceed with the project. They called upon my services to prepare the area and complete the wardrobe installation.

Despite the initial setbacks, the finished wardrobe looks amazing and fits perfectly in the room. Nevertheless, this project encountered several complications:

1. Incorrect measurements necessitated additional work, resulting in a change of the Scope of Work.
2. The tight and confined spaces in the bedroom made navigation extremely challenging.

Nevertheless, I am truly pleased with the outcome of the wardrobe and have a satisfied client.

When a friend of a friend experienced the harsh reality of Scottish weather, he called upon my skillset to fix his fence. Due to the property's location on a main road without planning permission, the maximum (legal) height allowed is 1m.

Get to know my work:

Where it all started, and I found my passion for DIY. Upon buying my first flat, money was tight, but there were essential tasks that needed attention. One such task was stripping the old, outdated, and damaged laminate flooring.

Initially, I anticipated it would be a straightforward, quick job for a day. However, upon removing the laminate, I discovered that none of the existing floorboards were level, presenting a significant challenge.

After further analysis, I had to make the best of the situation with the conditions at hand. I filled areas that were over 30mm in discrepancy with a self-leveling mix, while plastic packers were utilized for areas under 30mm to prevent dips.
