How to fold socks like a pro ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why fold socks?

They’re neater than balling them, but perhaps more importantly, you can fit more into a drawer when they’re folded cos they’re thinner.

Check out our technique:

🧦 Lay both socks flat on top of each other

🧦 Visually divide the pair into three sections from toe to cuff

🧦 Fold the toe up one-third of the way, then fold the cuff down to meet it (or do two neat folds) so it forms a small rectangle

🧦 Stand the folded rectangle upright in your drawer so you can see every pair at a glance (see the next slide)

💥 ta daaaa!

We get asked about toy storage all the time so we thought we’d share some of our faves

Kallax from IKEA - a classic. Brilliant for storing things like dinosaurs, games, toy musical instruments. There’s a wide range of baskets and tubs you can choose and you can even put shelves in the boxes too.

Trofast: the bigger tubs are great for soft toys, dolls and bigger items. The smaller tubs better for smaller bits such as arts and crafts, toy jewellery and dress up accessories. The great thing is about these is that you can carry them across to wherever your kid is playing or crafting.

Toy hammocks are a lovely way for children to be able to see what toys they have whilst still keeping them tidy.

Baskets and trugs are perfect for kids to be able to help themselves to toys and easy to tidy up afterwards.

If space is tight, consider using storage on the back of your door. Brilliant for Jellycats, Barbies and teddies.

This has to be the ultimate in space saving and practical: bean bags filled with soft toys!

This is how I save my kids’ shoes when they’re too small for my bigger boys but I need to save them for my littler ones.

A quick label and using an IKEA SKUBB hanger means you can see at a glance what sizes you have. Saves you a trip to the shoe shop and the expense of a new pair of shoes 👞 👟

We begin our Autumn Essentials series with the dreaded Tupperware cupboard!

If this is a familiar sight, don’t panic: we got you.

There is NOTHING more annoying than this cupboard. Lids flung everywhere; nothing matching; it all falls out when you try and find something 🫣😮‍💨

Step 1: take it ALL out.

Step 2: match lids with tubs

Step 3: get rid of anything stained or scratchy

Step 4: get rid of anything without a lid

Step 4: get realistic. Are you REALLY going to use all the compartments for your Bento Box sandwich tub? No. Do you really need 10 tiny round tubs ‘just in case?’ No. 2 will suffice

Step 5: use a drawer if you have one free. Loads easier to maintain than a cupboard. And store with the lids ON.

Step 6: admire
