Garage roof transformed 👌

The customer wanted a premium waterproofing product with excellent longevity and long-term warranty options, so we installed Alwitra EVALON VSK.

The existing roof was overlaid with new plywood before the VSK membrane was fully bonded, with all perimeter edges and upstands carefully detailed and finished.

A smart, clean finish and a roof built for the long term. 👌

Looking for a bit of help from anyone with contacts at East Lothian Council.

Does anyone know a contact within the Planning / Listed Buildings / Conservation department who could advise on statutory consent requirements for proposed roofing works to a listed property in Haddington?

I’m specifically looking to establish what permissions may be required before works proceed.

Any names, contact details or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Please send me a message.

This carport has now been finished with a new Corotherm polycarbonate sheet roofing system, giving the area below plenty of natural light while providing a clean, weatherproof finish.

This one was a little more challenging than it first appeared — there was approximately 400mm difference across the existing timber frame, so plenty of measuring and adjusting was required to get the sheets and glazing bars running correctly and achieve a tidy finished roof.

Really pleased with how it turned out. 👌

Good progress on this bespoke project in Portobello, Edinburgh.

Works completed so far:

• Air & vapour control layer installed
• 210mm insulation installed
• Roof primed and fully covered with Alwitra EVALON VSK single-ply membrane

Still to come is the bespoke perimeter metalwork, followed by the Alwitra trims and final perimeter detailing once the metalwork is installed.

The green roof system is also on order and will complete the roof build-up. 🌱

The final photo shows the intended finished design — looking forward to seeing this one all come together!

Recently completed the supply and installation of Alwitra EVALON VSK single-ply roofing membrane at Kingsland Primary School, Peebles, on behalf of Saltire Roofing Ltd.

As part of the project, the existing insulation within this roof section was removed and replaced before the new Alwitra membrane was installed. The roof was then completed with ICB liquid detailing to the circular rooflights and perimeter details, providing a durable, fully watertight finish.

Another flat roof ✔️

This project involved transforming a new extension into a fully waterproof, high-performance roofing system.

Works carried out included:
✔️ New torch-on felt upstands
✔️ Supply and installation of Alwitra Evalon VSK single-ply membrane
✔️ Fully heat-welded seams and perimeter detailing
✔️ Reinstallation of all slates at the eaves
✔️ Re-bedded only the ridge tiles that required attention to ensure a neat, weatherproof finish

The roof is now fully watertight and finished to a high standard. The only remaining item is to return once the render has been completed to install the drip edge trims to the remaining two sides, ensuring the final finish is completed correctly.

The existing roof covering was stripped back and completely renewed, giving it a smart new look and many years of reliable protection.

School holidays means I’ve got an extra pair of hands… or so I thought! 😄

Brought my 12-year-old son out to help on a job today and keep him occupied over the school holidays. It’s a great way to get him away from the screens, teach him the value of hard work, and spend some time together.

I even climbed to the highest point I could find just to make sure he’d cleaned up properly… quality control is all part of the job! 😂

Joking aside, he worked hard, listened well, and did a great job. Hopefully he’s picked up a few skills along the way.

Nothing beats passing on a good work ethic while making the most of the summer holidays. 👷‍♂️❤️
