The Transfermagic branded 1/12th scale 1300 oval car won it's final last night at Lothian Oval Racing Club!

Can you spot the red and yellow (and black) car doing laps? It's fast-paced action all night long with cars doing a full circuit in around 3 seconds - that was 70 laps for the winning run here!

Fancy a new hobby? The club runs every Monday night, alternating classes of oval stock cars from saloons, F1s, F2s and the very popular bangers! Click through to the Lothian Oval Racing Club page to find out more details! There's even a 1300 saloon car to hire if you just want a wee taste!

Back in 2012, when Transfermagic first opened for business, we occupied a small back office on the first floor of the Beaverhall Art Studios. There was no remote buzzer to open the main door so we would have to take a phone call and sprint down the stairs to manually let a client in.

As the company grew, we relocated to a larger, corner office on the second floor, which had a buzzer and a lift, thankfully! There were lovely neighbours and a real sense of community amongst the many businesses and artists that called the building home.

Whilst Transfermagic moved to it's current location on Anderson Place in the summer of 2020, we've kept in contact and worked with those artists and businesses that remained, so it's really sad to see the building - the old Duncans chocolate factory - being demolished to make way for flats and small retail shops. Whilst it was leaking rainwater even when we were there and lined full of asbestos, the building has had a huge impact on Edinburgh life and culture for the 50odd years it's stood.

Did you visit us there in Beaverhall?

Really happy to donate to Patrick aka The Bike Fitters - Edinburgh and Lothians for his epic team ride in a couple of months! He came into the studio this week and gave me a bike fit, looking forward to getting out and about in the correct position thanks to him!
