Please welcome Ben, our newest apprentice.

Ben lives in Bonnyrigg and got in touch to tell us about his love of joinery, something he's always wanted to work in. He's currently studying at Granton College and is looking forward to learning from the team and taking on high-end carpentry work.

Welcome to the team, Ben.

High Sunderland, commissioned for the textile designer and artist Bernat Klein and his family in 1956.

Built in a modernist vernacular by architect , the house was extensively damaged by fire in 2018. Restoration was completed in 2022, bringing the building back to its original design.

Laurence McIntosh was appointed as main contractors, working alongside an excellent team of architects Loader Monteith Architects to carry out extensive internal and external refurbishment work and Narro as structural engineers and M & E/building services by Harley Haddow.

The house, in the Scottish Borders, was designed with clear and coloured panes of glass within a wooden structure in a woodland setting and is often referred to as a “Mondrian set within a Klimt.”

Continuing our look inside Hope Lodge, Sutherland, this time the deli in the family barn.

Textured oak and stone worksurfaces, doors with slightly protruding dowels, drawers morticed through the face. The same attention to detail as the kitchen, carried through into every corner of the building.

Thank you to the team from WT Architecture who joined us for a tour of the workshop recently.

Our workshop plays an integral role in supporting the main contracting side of the business, bringing specialist craftsmanship, technical expertise and production capabilities together under one roof.

It was great to walk through the process together and demonstrate how each stage—from timber selection and preparation through to the bench—supports the delivery of high-quality, bespoke work for our main contracting projects.

We enjoyed showing you round and it was lovely to meet you.
