I always like to stay in touch with gardens we build. I visit in spring and autumn. It helps to establish them over several years with gardeners on the ground that do a brilliant job on a regular basis or clients that like gardening. It is truly a team effort to get newly built gardens to establish well. It also helps to support the gardener, who lovingly looks after the garden. The gardens are living space’s and forever changing environments that need nurturing and tweaking as they grow to get the best out of them. Staying in touch with the gardens also helps to identify potential slower or faster growing shrubs over powering and becoming a problem to their plant neighbours. The process in which something is created, takes a lot of conversations and problem solving. It is quite amazing to create something special out of a heap of soil and see it grow and convert itself into the visual in your head. Like a sculpture out of a lump of clay or a film out of a book. As always this is never about one person.

What a difference a few summer months with warm sun has made to this garden. It is looking stronger and more robust, filling gaps on the borders as the plants grow. It takes time & support to look after a newly built garden, thanks to the garden team Strata Landscape Construction Kevock Garden Plants for doing such a great job with the new planting and older planting . The garden is knitting well from phase 1 to phase 2. Also the balance is beginning to address itself between the hard landscaping and soft. Plants take time to grow. Addressing the balance is tricky, too much hard landscaping and not enough planting can often feel too hard. Get in touch if you need a garden designed in your garden. We built this garden a few years ago and is looking more settled and mature. It was lovely making time to see old friends, check on progress and picked up my Hori knife that got lost in the border. Look how wonderful the garden is looking!
