As a specialist steeplejack and rope access company, Igoe Up Ltd carries out work in places that most trades simply cannot access.
Working at height presents its own challenges, and getting a professional decorator up a 40-metre chimney, church spire or onto a difficult roof using ropes or steeplejack ladders isn’t always practical!
That’s why we’ve subscribed to Ask My Decorator and installed it on all our team’s tablets.
It gives our operatives access to professional decorating knowledge while on site, helping them make informed decisions about the materials, preparation methods and application techniques best suited to the buildings we’re working on.
This is particularly important when working on historic and listed buildings, where using the correct materials and methods is essential.
But it’s not just the bigger technical questions that make this app worthwhile.
It’s also a fantastic learning tool for our apprentices. Whether it’s understanding different products, cleaning equipment properly, storing materials or asking those little questions they might feel silly asking, the guidance is there at their fingertips.

Mark wanted to create a credible, accessible and non-judgemental source of professional guidance that apprentices could turn to whenever they needed support.
