Great weather for a great day of work ☀️

The team here at AKD recently completed the electrical upgrade of the café and toilets at the historically listed 18th-century Chatelherault Hunting Lodge in Hamilton for Maxi Construction Ltd.

Works carried out included: partial strip out, new containment, new distribution board, general lighting, lighting controls, emergency lighting, small power, heating, and fire alarms.

As this is a listed building, and required to remain open for the duration of the works, careful planning was required to ensure disruption was kept to an absolute minimum, with much of the work being completed outside of standard working hours. Another first-class electrical installation carried out by AKD Systems Ltd.

Celebrate? Yes you May 🥳

First up we have four apprentices! Rufus who is coming up for 6 years including his pre apprenticeship, Logan on his 1st, Sam on his 2nd and both Finlay and Stuart on their 4th!

Next up we have Shelagh, Administrator, celebrating 5 years with us and Richard, Buyer, on his 10th! What an amazing achievement.

And, that’s not all, as we would like to wish both our Contracts Manager, Paul and our Estimator, Darren, a very happy birthday for this month!

AKD have recently completed the alterations of an existing car showroom to form a new, rebranded showroom in Ayr for W H Kirkwood Ltd 🚘

Works carried out included: partial strip out, new containment, new distribution board, general lighting, bespoke lighting, lighting controls, emergency lighting, small power, fire alarm and data installation.

As the showroom remained operational during the works, careful planning was required to ensure disruption was kept to an absolute minimum. Another first-class electrical installation carried out by AKD Systems Ltd.

We recently completed an upgrade to the exterior lighting at McSence Business Park in Mayfield 💡

We replaced the existing halogen floodlights in the car park and on the building with brand-new LEDs. These new lights produce a cleaner, crisper light, making a huge difference from the old orange output.

In addition to producing better light, these LED lights will also benefit the client’s pocket in the long-term, with efficiency savings on their energy bills 🙌🏻

We completed another job at Castle Terrace in Edinburgh recently 🙌🏻

The work included: a new underfloor busbar with RCD power bars brought up into the desk positions; all-new feature lighting with linear and pendant fittings within the baffle ceilings; and upgrading existing lighting to led panels.

Great to be working alongside MPACT again on this one!
