Another bathroom we are currently on 🚿

We were initially called out to a report of loose tiles. However, it turned out there is water damage through the wall, affecting the plasterboard and insulation. Luckily we have managed to catch it in time before it affected the floor and timber partitions.

This is a two day project removing the shower, shower screen, shower tray. Removal and disposal of all damaged tiles and plasterboard also the insulation. Installing new insulations and plasterboard.

Bathroom renovation update! 🛁

The walls around the shower have been taped and the tanking has been applied. Now it’s ready to be tiled. The tanking is a very important step and we seem to find this part being missed a lot or not actually shown. Grout is not waterproof and absorbs water. If we had tiled directly onto the moisture resistance plasterboard the grout would absorb the water causing the plasterboard to get wet or damp. The tanking prevents this and creates a barrier between the tiles and plasterboard. 👌

Bathroom renovation update!🚽

The pipes have been replaced and put into the new positioning of the bathroom. The dot dab plaster has been done with moisture resistance plasterboard of course, the shower tray has been installed, the ceiling has been plastered by Grant Dempster Plastering, walls are ready for tanking around the shower and tiles around the bathroom.

Update on bathroom renovation 🛁

To move the waste we had to lift three slabs, dig down and run a new waste pipe below ground to get the run on the waste pipe and to reconfigure the bathroom.

We, of course, left the place as if we had never touched it 🙂

🚿 Bathroom Renovation!

This bathroom has been stripped right back to brick, and once everything was exposed, we discovered the floor was rotten and unsafe.

The old flooring has now been removed and replaced, giving us a safe and solid base to work from. 🔨

There’ll be more updates showing the various stages of the job coming soon, so follow along to see the final transformation! 👀
