Boiler Back in Action 👌
Today we successfully brought a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 28i Junior back to life in Livingston after diagnosing a split heat exchanger. The faulty heat exchanger was replaced, along with a new burner gasket and new electrodes to ensure safe and efficient operation.
We also replaced a leaking automatic air vent and pressure relief valve and re-charged the expansion vessel, resolving existing water loss issues. A full boiler service was carried out, and all 26.9 gas safety checks were completed to confirm the appliance is operating safely and within manufacturer specifications.
For added peace of mind, a new carbon monoxide alarm was supplied and installed.
Another system restored safely, efficiently, and ready to keep the home warm and reliable.

Frozen Outside Tap Replacement – Uphall, Broxburn.

We recently attended a property in Uphall, Broxburn where an outside bib tap had split due to freezing temperatures. Unfortunately, this is a common issue during cold weather, but we were able to **replace the tap promptly** and get everything back in safe working order.

To help prevent this from happening at your own property, we recommend:

Switching off the outside tap at the internal isolating valve.
Opening the outside tap fully to allow any remaining water to drain out.
This simple step can greatly reduce the risk of pipes freezing, splitting, and causing unwanted leaks or damage.

Surely *this* will be the last outside tap install of 2025?! 🥶

Out yesterday morning in a chilly -5°C in Muireston fitting… you guessed it… an outside tap!
No, our customer isn’t crazy – it’s all part of an upgrade to protect the existing tap from freezing and avoid burst pipes and leaks later on.

✅ Frost protection upgrade
✅ Pipework insulated
✅ Outside tap ready for winter

Thinking ahead like this saves a lot of hassle (and money!) when the temperatures drop 😅❄️

Emergency callout this afternoon in East Calder to a **Worcester Greenstar 28i Junior**.

We found a failed flow elbow leaking onto the fan, which in turn caused the fan PCB to blow. The ignition electrodes were also in poor condition.

✅ New fan fitted
✅ New electrodes and gasket installed
✅ Full service carried out
✅ 26.9 safety checks completed

All issues resolved and the boiler is now safely back up and running 💪
