A lovely bit of feedback from the archives. ⭐️

We’ve worked on all sorts of home improvement projects over the years, and knowing our customers have felt confident putting their homes in our hands means a lot.

Thank you for the kind words and recommendation.

Anyone else struggling to keep up with the weather at the moment? 😂

One minute summer makes a comeback and it’s warm enough for a T-shirt, the next the temperature drops and the waterproofs are back out.

It certainly keeps us guessing when we’re working outside!

Whatever it decides to do, the work carries on. We are in the UK after all… if we waited for perfect weather, we wouldn’t get much done. 😂

For now, we’ll keep the ponchos close by and hope for the best!

It’s the finishing touches that really bring a space together.

What was once an unused attic, home to old suitcases, Christmas decorations and all the things you don’t quite know where else to put, can become a completely new part of your home.

Here, the clean finish, wooden flooring, spotlights and subtle backlighting have turned it into a bright, modern space that feels a world away from a typical attic.

If you could convert your attic into anything, what would you use the extra space for?

September already... and it definitely feels like the weather has got the memo. ☕️

It’s been a really busy few months for us at D Rice Installations, with plenty of jobs underway and lots of quotes going out for upcoming projects.

After around 30 years in the building trade, working on everything from kitchens and bathrooms to larger home renovations, I still really enjoy seeing a project come together. Especially when we can take a space that isn’t quite working for someone and turn it into something that suits their home and how they want to use it.

So it’s a quick coffee when I can grab one, then back to it! 😂

If you’re thinking about making some changes to your home over the next few months, what’s currently at the top of your list?

It doesn’t look like much just yet... but that’s all part of the process.

A lot of the work that goes into a renovation is the stuff you’ll never actually see once it’s finished. Making things fit, working with the space you’ve got and getting all the details right before the finishing touches go on.

Especially in existing homes, things aren’t always perfectly straight or quite where you expect them to be, so sometimes it takes a bit of problem solving to get the end result you want.

But as builders, this is actually the bit we really appreciate. We know what’s underneath has been done properly and that everything is solid and built to last. The finishes, colours and styling are the bits you get to enjoy choosing, but it’s the work underneath that makes sure it all stands the test of time.

It might not be the prettiest stage of the job, but it’s definitely one of the most important.

Built-in shelving is a great way to make use of space that might otherwise be wasted, without adding extra units or shelves that stick out into the room.

It keeps everything looking clean and sleek, but still gives you somewhere handy for all those bottles that inevitably end up around the bath. 😂

Would you go for built-in storage like this, or do you prefer everything completely hidden away?

Not every part of a home renovation makes it into the finished photos.

There’s usually plenty of digging, dust, problem solving and slightly less glamorous work going on behind the scenes first.

A little glimpse of what the D Rice team gets up to when we’re not showing you the shiny finished bathrooms and renovations!

Reviews like this are always lovely to look back on.

Knowing someone was happy with the whole experience, from the initial quote right through to the finished bathroom, is exactly what we aim for with every job.

Thank you again for the recommendation!

One thing I've learnt is there's never a perfect time to start a home project.
People wait until after Christmas.
Then after summer.
Then after the holidays.

Before you know it, another year has gone by. 😂

Sometimes you've just got to pick a date and go for it.

Anyone else guilty of saying, "We'll sort that next year"... every year? 😂
